I recently purchased the Ford Freestyle recently . We have gone through so many cars it was nice to finally find a reliable one . We have children so we were looking for a non- bulky SUV. We were looking at 3 row subs but they were all to big and bulky for our taste. After doing some research we found the ford freestyle. We bought the car offline and it was amazing. The inside was clean, it was a very spacious car. We have three children so it was always hard finding a vehicle with enough space for us and three car seats, let alone strollers, groceries, etc. We were able to fit our whole family comfortably in the car and the best part was you couldn't even tell it was a 3 row sub ! It wasn't to big or bulky and fit us perfectly. Such a great car.
Story
We would take drives to downtown Dallas at night and see the skyline and the buildings light up. The car was comfortable enough for everyone to sit back and enjoy the ride.
Pros
The car was very spacious for a compact sub . It wasn't big nor bulky . We did but it from someone so it was pre-owned . The car came to us in tip top shape . The seats were big enough to fit car seats and the seats were adjustable . We were able to manage the A/C on both the driver and passengers side to different temperatures . The cars built in radio/stereo worked perfectly . The car also had a mirror up top so we had a view of the kids without having to turn around fully to see how they were . The passenger and driver seats were comfortable . If you move the seat to your liking it woul... (more)
Cons
One of the only things I didn't like about the vehicle was the trunk . I have three kids and they require strollers. I get that its a compact sub but the trunk could only fit one small stroller. We would have to open the side doors and put other items by our feet because there wasn't enough space in the trunk. The trunk is deep though but for bigger items it doesn't work so well. Our check engine light came on several times for no reason but then it would turn off. My only complain would be the trunk space because for our family we travel with a lot of items and the trunk simply wasn't big... (more)

The cloth seats will stain, even if you spill water on them. This is the #1 complaint of this car. I read some reviews before I bought it in 2008. Literally tried all types of cleaner for car seats and none of them have taken the stains out. Even spilled water left a stain. Since owning it for seven years, I've replaced two a/c compressors. Normal brake jobs and it will tell you when to change the oil, which is a good thing for maintenance. The other problem is some of the plastic hardware (i.e. compartment to hold garage door opener) broke a couple of years ago and now will not stay shut. Some of the lettering on the radio has worn off. The continuous transmission took some getting used to, but it will get up and go when you need it. It doesn't have enough "power supplies" for all the... (more)
Pros
Traction control, traction control, traction control. Thank you, Ford. The combination of AWD & TC was awesome. Solid rubber windshield wipers. No ice buildup. Six-disc radio. Great sound. Command power seating. Heated mirrors/rear defroster. Clears ice fast. Smooth transmission.
Cons
Car takes too long to warm up. After turning off the car, having to remember to unlock all the doors to get something out of the back. Loud engine noise when merging into traffic. Good pickup but loud. Headlights too low (adjustable), high beams could be brighter.
