2009 Ford Focus - Great car for the price!
This car has been great for us, especially for the price. There have been things that have gone wrong over the years, but they have been pretty minor compared to other cars we have owned. I like that it gets good gas mileage and handles well on the highway.
Story
Before we had bought a bigger, second vehicle, this was our only vehicle. We love to go camping and several times we have packed the car totally full of gear and headed out for the weekend. You are able to store a surprising amount of camping equipment in such a compact car.
Pros
One of the biggest pros was the cost. I like the way in handles and the good gas mileage.
Cons
The air conditioning went out after a few years. We had someone look at it and the cost was pretty high to get it replaced, so we have just dealt with it. There were also some brackets that came loose on the front axle and rattled around. This didn't cause any problems and was mostly an annoyance until we got it fixed.
2007 Ford Focus - Great little car.
Love this car, fuel efficient, quick and reliable. I love the stick shift. Never have had a mechanical issue, oil changes only. I have a pretty basic model so no frills like heated seats but that is exactly what I wanted. Cheap, practical and no junk to break. DoesnÕt event have a tac, the shift indicator is useless so just go by feel.
Story
Multiple trips driving across Kansas to go snowboarding in Colorado. After 10 years of driving this vehicle I still haven't figured out the shift indicator. The like flashes on and off seemingly randomly.
Pros
Cheap, fuel efficient, quick, reliable, can haul a surprising amount of stuff in the hatchback with the seats down. I actually pull a trailer with it sometimes and it handles like a champ.
Cons
I have the 2 door which kind of sucks. To small if you have a family. A little loud on the road and the radio leaves a lot to be desired. The A/C recharge spot is not in a convenient location. No tack.
