Ford Focus Owner Ratings & Reviews

2010 Ford Focus - Reliable and economic
My 2010 Ford Focus was the first vehicle I ever purchased. I bought it used. I am satisfied with the gas mileage; I usually get about 26-28 mpg from regular, day-to-day driving. I frequently use this vehicle to drive from the San Francisco Bay area to the San Diego area, about a 500-mile trip and only have to refuel once. Although it isn't the fanciest or most luxurious vehicle, it is a comfortable ride and easy to maintain. After owning the vehicle for five years, I have never needed to take it in for any major repairs, only regular maintenance like tire rotations or oil changes. One thing I did have to replace was the set of tire pressure sensors. The ones that came with the vehicle from the factory have about a five-year battery life (as I was told by the shop technician), an... (more)
Story
Although there isn't much cargo space, I was able to fill up the car with all my belongings when moving. I filled up the trunk as well as all the passenger space. I could barely use my rear view mirrors, and it felt like I was driving a cubicle, but the car still got me to where I needed to go, no problem.
Pros
Decent gas mileage. Easy to drive and comfortable ride. Overall, easy/cheap to maintain. Reliable.
Cons
Car is a bit on the small side. The rear passengers do not have much leg room, and there is not much trunk space. Batteries in tire-pressure sensors have a five-year battery life and are a bit expensive to replace. If not replaced, an annoying light appears on the console. The paint on the car radio buttons is peeling off to the point where you can't tell what some of the buttons say.
2014 Ford Focus -
Vehicle has nice exterior design and spacious interior for up to five persons. The interior quality is standard and deteriorating faster than it should. The trunk space is decent and fits plenty of items. The rear seat can be folded to fit large items into trunk of vehicle. When it comes to performance, the vehicle is considered more fuel efficient compared to vehicles from other manufacturers. The only thing the car lack is power during acceleration. The vehicle have tendency to make revving noise whilst accelerating. Unlike vehicles from other manufacturers, it takes much longer to accelerate to speed of 50 mph and tops at roughly 80 mph. Vehicle is fuel efficient but not someone that prefers driving at fast speeds.
Story
Speeding downhill which does not require acceleration. Vehicle takes quite a while to accelerate, so impatient drivers from behind have to change lanes. Loud revving noises makes people think the car might be really fast, but it is one of the slowest vehicles on the road.
Pros
Most positive thing about vehicle is sleek design and fuel efficiency. Favorite feature is streaming music using Bluetooth.
Cons
Vehicle lacks power when accelerating, and engine makes loud revving noise.
