2014 Ford Focus - Solid car, if buggy.
I have owned varieties of the Ford Focus since the car first came out in 2000. Every version I have had has been a solid car. I love how compact it is, but also how the back seats fold down cleanly for a large amount of cargo space. I dislike the 2016 model's tendency towards difficulties with the "automatic standard" transmission. It hasn't really kept us from doing anything, but it can get annoying to drive with how the car sometimes shutters before/after stops or when shifting gears.
Story
For some reason, there is a particular spot along I-35 in Moore Oklahoma where the low tire warning comes on. Almost every time, and not always because of a low tire. It's always on this one particular stretch of highway. We've pulled over around that area multiple times to refill/check the tires, just in case. It almost never happens in other parts of the city.
Pros
Love the radio setup with SYNC. It's been pretty easy to sync all our various devices with the vehicle. I also appreciate the gas mileage. We can get 35+ mpg highway, which although not exactly what we would prefer is definitely decent for the price. It's also a beautiful color. The beautiful almost purple blue was one of the biggest selling points for us when we bought it. The flexibility of the seat positioning is awesome, too. My wife is far taller than I, and since we share the car it's important that we be able to move the seat around to accommodate both of us.
Cons
The transmission continues to be a bit wonky. The car shutters when pulling out of a stop or when shifting gears. How noticeable the problem is varies from day to day, week to week even. The fuses in the various "cigarette lighter" plug ins have also burnt out on us a few times over the 2 years or so we've owned the car. It's annoying to be incapable of charging things successfully while driving.
