2013 Ford Focus - Great Concept, Horrible Execution
When I first purchased the Ford Focus with power shifting I thought it was a great idea and a wonderful vehicle. Time has proved me very wrong. Within a year I had to take the vehicle in for repairs at least three times including for one instance of the vehicle spontaneously shutting down. I would not recommend this model to anyone and plan on changing vehicles as soon as I am financially able.
Story
I've driven this vehicle a lot with my now fiancé and we've had a lot of fun in it despite the problems. Probably my favorite experience was when we took a road trip to New Mexico and back. We had a lot of fun driving and no problems at all.
Pros
The vehicles SYNC system is actually very very nice, especially the voice activation. There is also plenty of space in the front, back and trunk for whatever you would like to or need to haul. It would be a good family vehicle if it were not for the already stated issues.
Cons
The already stated problems with the engine is the biggest issue. That the door broke within a year requiring a 'known' fix was annoying. I just wish Ford had released a higher quality product to start with.
2008 Ford Focus - Cheap Car
One of the best things that I liked about this vehicle was the amount of miles per gallon that I get with it. I get about 36 to 38 miles to the gallon with it. One of the main reasons why I don't like this car is because it is made very cheaply. I took it through an automatic car wash and the side mirror cover was knocked loose. When driving down the road it made a whistling noise so I pulled over. I rolled down my window because the gaskets where the window meets the door tends to fold over, and checked that, then I got out and walked around the vehicle and didn't notice anything. I backed out of the parking spot and CRUNCH I backed over the mirror cover. Little things like that happen all the time. Also the ignition switch went out so I couldn't start it anymore. Story
On our way to a cruise we flew a kite out our window!
Pros
The lighting, Gas Mileage, color, Gas mileage, Radio reception (seriously I get radio stations from over 100 miles away, no exaggeration!)
Cons
Falls apart, Road noise, Bad shocks, expensive replacement parts ($160 per shock)
