1999 Ford Focus - Fast, Furious, Solara
I liked that the car was a 99 model, those are my two lucky numbers. I dislike that my head gaskets are busted again after a rebuild. Hopefully I won't need new rings, or crank shaft. I really like the look, and body of this car, I really don't know why this make and model did not make it to the fast and the furious. It is a really comfortable car, it has a lot of room, and the body is pretty wide. I noticed noises coming from the engine mounts that are busted as well. It has been in and out of the shop, and we can not find a great rebuild mechanic who won't charge an arm and a leg. The car has over 200 thousand miles on it, always did the oil changes, and could rebuild the motor for about 2,200 says a local mechanic. I've had so much fun with this car, went on road trips to northern C... (more)
Story
Yes, the first time I drove to Lake Tahoe was in this car with my family. We had such a great time visiting friends and family of the 7th Day Adventist Church. I also met a lot of friends, and nice people who lived in that area. We got to drive all around the lake, and the lake looked so clear and blue, that we jumped right into it when we got there, it was really fun.
Pros
There are many pro's with this car. I could go down the list, but one thing that I liked for sure, I mean like I really liked for sure would be the v-6 motor. A lot of the of the old v6 motors were just one engine block and a lot of mechanics think that the v6 engine would not change over the years, however Japanese companies started making their own version of this v6 motor and it comes in 2 motor heads. The Pro's do that are each cylinder gets their own room to breath for a high efficiency. Another pro would be that is has an extra two cylinders compared to the 4 cylinder make they put o... (more)
Cons
There were also many cons just like every make and model from any company in the auto industry, these cars were all meant to break at some point, or something had to go wrong. Even race cars in Nascar need maintenance. Bolts, and screws sometimes don't hold for long due to high stress, not driving carefully, and always making wide end turns. This all put a lot stress on my engine mounts, and broke them. My suspension also went out and had to rebuilt that. One of the first cons about the car is that it comes stock and we all know that all the stock parts go bad. My Radiator busted. Another ... (more)
2005 Ford Focus - Dependable, but not flashy.
Overall, my 2005 Ford Focus is a dependable, inexpensive option for an every day car. I've used it for daily commute and one long distance drive, and it has handled everything I've asked it to do perfectly. It doesn't cost much to keep it gassed up, and it seems like it has a pretty good fuel efficiency. I've driven it through the desert, and I can say that I trusted it completely to not have any problems or strand me out there unexpectedly. I have never spent any money on it besides regular oil changes either, and I got the car when it was at over 100,000 miles. It's dependable and simple. The main drawback for me is that it does have a strangely loud motor, especially in the morning when you turn it on for the first time. It sounds like it is running poorly, even though it is not. It... (more)
Story
I used to drive it up and down Highway One in California, and it was fun to drive it to Big Sur. It handled Highway One very well, and it was a fun trip to take in the car.
Pros
The top positive thing is simply the dependability. I know that the car will get me from point A to point B and I won't have to worry. If I keep the oil changes regular and treat the car well, there is nothing for me to worry about in terms of dependability. That and the gas mileage. It's pretty efficient, even though I have a lot of miles on it.
Cons
The main negative is the engine noise. It may just be my particular vehicle, but the car is pretty loud. When you turn it on in the morning, it roars, and not a good roar. It can be kind of irritating or make you self conscious, but letting it run makes it die down a little. It'll never be a quiet ride, however. Again, your experience may vary but my Focus is weirdly loud.

2009 Ford Focus - Caruso Ford Long Beach
There wasn't too much hassle with getting them down to a reasonable price for my fiancé's car. They have been my family's go to car dealership for years as well. When it came time to look for a car, we didn't feel harassed and they gave me my breathing room. Once she was ready to buy, everyone was extremely helpful before and after negotiations.
2006 Ford Focus - Caruso Ford Long Beach
Wonderful staff. I didn't feel like we haggled when we were there for 3 hours. Accommodations were nice. Didn't feel like I was being sold to. Extra benefits because we were buying from them made it feel worth it.
