2014 Ford Focus - Too low to the ground, bad tranny.
I love the pick-up speed and all the fun electronics such as sync. Overall, it is a good car but not really for me. This is the first new car I have ever owned. The process was very easy.
Story
I had a great time touring the north woods, taking the hwy 2 loop around the Great Lakes. I stopped to see many lighthouses and even saw the Apostle Islands. I took the car across to Madeline Island on the car ferry. It was a spectacular way to travel.

The transmission slips constantly. It can be very frustrating and even dangerous. Ford has done their part to warranty the repairs until 100,000 miles, but I still have to go without my car once a year for two days so it can be fixed! The car is very sporty and sits very low to the ground, clearing about six inches.. This is a problem when you live in Wisconsin, and you often get eight or more inches of snow. I have sat stuck in snow several times since owning this car.
2012 Ford Focus - Ford reliability
I love this vehicle. It looks way sportier than previous models of the Focus. I also was looking for something that would be easy to maintain and not have a lot of hidden costs. In the six years I've owned this car, I have not had to have one unexpected trip to the mechanic for this vehicle. The regular maintenance has been extremely affordable. My biggest complaint is that this model did not come with an aux jack or any Bluetooth technology. It also does not have any satellite radio or anything like that. The range of the radio isn't as great as I would've hoped. However after owning two foreign cars and sinking $1,000s in expensive parts and repairs, this car was exactly what I was hoping for.
Story
Buying my car originally and driving around and all the comments about how sporty the car looked, especially when my sister saw it at a Lowes parking lot.
Pros
Reliability and great gas mileage. Extremely affordable maintenance and durability.
Cons
No tech package or aux input, and the radio range isn't as great as one would hope.
