The only problem the car has asides from the seat wearing badly and no middle arm rest is the fact that the electronic display and dashboard lights have stopped working all together. I simply bought a light that hooks to the car cigarette lighter to illuminate the speedometer, fuel gauge, and the other dashboard items displayed. This is inconvenient and have been told it would be costly to repair. You have to manually turn on the external lights I have illuminating the dashboard gauges and remember to turn it off when you have parked and are done with the car. I have forgot to turn them off and left the car sitting for two days while visiting my husband, us only using his car to get around in during that time, and returned to the car, for the long trek home to a dead battery but a simple jump was all that was needed to fix the problem. I plan on fixing the lights but the system I am using works and is saving us the $400 repair cost. They have to take the whole dash out to get to the part they think that is bad to fix it thus causing the bill to be high for such a simple thing. The problems are not mechanical and do not effect how the car runs and performs so the lights not working since I got it pretty much is worth it and will not effect my overall view of my car.

It gets me from home to where I need to go. It is not a car that I can trust for a long trip though. The user manual also lacks certain information I would like to see, such as how much power the DC outlet provides. The manual only states the physical size of the fuse that can be placed on the line, not what fuse I should use (20 amp, 10 amp?) This is a bit of a safety concern if I put in a fuse with too high of a rating. The air intake is located in the drivers side wheel well. The air intake also has a bucket with a hole at the bottom to prevent water from going up through the air intake. The water should flow out the bottom. The plug at the bottom frequently gets clogged and water rises in the bucket and gets sucked through the air intake, causing the vehicle to stall and rust the Oxygen sensor. A lot of parts on the car that should be metal are actually plastic. This would be fine if it were a quality plastic, but instead, it is a cheap plastic. The paint falls off this plastic with no apparent reason. The guide also misses some points, like the fill cap in cabin on the passenger side that has a symbol for "No gas." I still can't figure out what should go in there, or if it is important. The car also suffers frequently from the transmission not telling the steering column that the key can be released in park. This car, unlike others, does not have an override to take the key out in these situations. I have managed to remove the key about three times in the past few months. I am forced to carry extra keys in case the key gets stuck in the ignition. The key being in the ignition also makes it a target for car thieves. I have figure out a way to cover the steering column without drawing attention to the ignition. This usually involves as extra shirt thrown loosely over the column or on the dashboard.

It seems there have been complaints about the transmission misfiring on some models. But after review, they are still having the transmission problems. Other than the transmission problem, the rest of the car has been performing great. Although the Focus isn't packaged with quite the level of space-efficiency as some models in its class, it's a rather roomy, versatile, and refined small car. The only thing that we see as a flaw is the overly styled instrument panel layout, which detracts from front seat space and usefulness, although Ford has upgraded switch gear and trims and reconfigured the center console for 2015. In front or in back, there's just enough legroom and headroom to fit even those over six feet. With the leather upholstery, there's no skimping on look and feel in back. Although you won't get mid-size comfort. And Ford has made some suspension changes that might keep the cabin quieter in the 2015 model. The head room in the vehicle could use some updates as it is not designed for someone 6 feet tall. The seats would constantly need adjusting to make the person comfortable in this vehicle.
