I have a 2005 Ford F-150 XLT Supercab. It's medium blue with tan interior. It is the 2WD model. The F-150 has a single-disc CD player with no aux port. The '05 Ford F-150 has the 5.4 liter three-valve Triton V-8 engine attached to a four-speed transmission. The 5.4 liter Triton engine delivers 300 horsepower at 5000 rpm and 365 pound-feet of torque at 3750 rpm and it gets 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. The 5.4 engine does have the spark plug problem that any other engines that Ford offers does not. The spark plug problem is that when you go to change spark plugs, they have a tendency to break inside the block of the motor. Ford has made a special tool to take the spark plugs out it just makes it an expensive piece of maintenance that has to be done. Usually over $300 to ... (more)
Story
Letting my girlfriend's daughter steer my truck while she set between us in the front. She's five and just had a blast being able to drive (with my help of course).
Pros
Strong motor with a lot of torque. Plenty of interior room. Four doors make it easy for my kids to get in and out. Styling of truck. The has a good looking body and a good stance. Manuals sliding back glass.
Cons
Spark plug issue on the 5.4 Triton engine. No aux port on the radio, so you can not plug in your phone to listen to music. A lot of plastic in the interior, so it can look kind of cheap.

2005 Ford F-150 - 2005 Ford F150. Great truck with an issue.

The 2005 Ford F150 XLT Supercab that I am reviewing has a 5.4 liter V-8 engine with the tow package on it and a 4 speed automatic transmission. It is a 2wd and has 4 doors, 2 standard doors in the front and 2 doors that open the opposite way in the rear. The 5.4 engine is strong enough to do anything you need to do with a 1/2 ton pickup truck. It has a 8300 lbs. tow capacity which I feel is plenty if you need more it would be time to upgrade to a 3/4 ton truck. The interior is nice but something's do look a little cheap and in 2005 this truck doesn't have a AUX input which is awful to me. The radio has a cd player and normal radio functions but nothing special. This truck can seat 6 with the center console in the front pulled up and there is enough room in the back at adults can sit ba... (more)
Story
Having 6 adults in the cab and 5 in the bed of the truck after the bar closed driving through our city going to get breakfast. On a side note, we had a sober driver.
Pros
The 5.4 engine has plenty of power for towing or hauling. Plenty of interior room for passengers. Ride quality is really good.
Cons
Biggest negative is that the spark plugs are known to break off in the cylinder and can be a costly fix the 5.4 of this year are bad for it. Only having a 4 speed transmission if they would increase it to a 5 or 6 speed it would help with mpg especially on the interstate.
