We bought a Ford F-150 Super Crew pick up truck when we still had children living at home. We were not looking for a truck and had not owned a truck before. We saw that the room inside this four-door truck was more than most sedans, plus it had the outside room in the truck bed for hauling cargo. Our model also had the opening sun roof. This truck is not too high off the ground, which makes it easy to get in and out of the vehicle. The back seats are roomy enough for three adults. There are bucket seats in the front with a big storage console in the middle. The bed of the truck is not full size. It is six-feet long with the tail gate closed, and it is eight-feet long with the tail gate open. I have an eight-foot fiberglass dinghy that fits perfectly in the back with the tail gate down.... Story
We still love taking the truck to the beach. Yesterday, we had a great trip to Grayton Beach on the panhandle of Florida. We took the beach chairs and umbrella in the truck bed and our cooler and towels in the back seat. I plan to take my stand-up paddle board in the bed on our next trip to that beach.
Pros
The best feature of the truck is its capacity to carry people in comfort as well as cargo in the bed. I like that the Trident engine has run well for 236,000 miles and is still going strong after 15 years.
Cons
The biggest problem with the truck is the roof. It has grooves molded in the metal, and the grooves are not designed to drain well. This causes the steel to rust. The sun roof has also proved to be a problem. Ours quit working after about ten years.

This truck has a full cab, thus making it roomy for up to four passengers, you would never know you are in a truck when riding in it. It handles very well in all weather conditions, feeling like one is driving a tall car. Needless to say, though it sport s short bed, it is more than able to handle large and heavy loads, including entire rolls of livestock hay or up to as many as 100 bags of feed 50 lbs. each PLUS added bales of hay. And it still drives as if your were in a car. The pulling and towing power is unsurpassed, it can breeze down the highway pulling a 26 foot travel trailer or a four horse trailer fully loaded and it stays stable, you could literally still drive it with one finger and would not know you had a trailer behind you till you looked out of the power side mirrors.
Story
For some reason, out of all our vehicles, we had a miniature jack (a male donkey) named Zazoom who loved this truck. He would spend hours looking at himself in the chrome, would rub against it and every day we took it out, (we had a long driveway that led into the farm) he would chase this truck braying at it, not wanting it to leave and he would stand at the gate and pout till it came home.
Pros
This truck drives like a car, but works like an even larger sized truck when it comes to carrying loads and towing. The bed, even a short bed is deep and ample in room. It is made to take a beating and is strong and safe. The full sized cab is more than roomy for up to four good sized men, and the center counsel storage offers much hide away your junk room. There are chargers in the rear as well for easy access to charge portable devices and the bed liner, even after many years of use, never shows wear. The chrome package on top of its work ability makes it look sporty and it is a very, ve... (more)
Cons
Like a typical Ford it quickly develops power window issues, they end up stuck up or only go half way down of just fall off the track completely. This can lead to expensive repair, averaging $170. to $500. per window to fix. And if you do a lot of towing you will be replacing break pads once every 6 month, much more so that you do on an average truck.
