1998 Ford F-150 - Like a Tank
This truck is like a built like a tank. It has been incredibly reliable and easy to maintain. Over 200k miles and still going strong. Though it is only two wheel drive it has gotten me through many tight spots.
If you need a vehicle that can take a beating and continue to outperform its long-dead competitors, this truck is your choice. It never fails to deliver when I need to make a long haul or carry a full bed of junk.
The full size bed has carried everything from a 1/2 yard of dirt to a pallet of cinder blocks.
Story
Back up from a blind intersection right into another car to avoid a turning vehicle.
Pros
The vehicle is reliable. Over 200000 miles and still strong.
The vehicle is easy to maintain. There is plenty of room in the engine bay for big hands and tools.
Tall enough to do an oil change without the need for ramps or lifts.
Parts are affordable if you do your own maintenance.
Gas mileage has not deteriorated with time.
Cons
There could be a little more room in the cab behind the seat.
The seats could be made more durably.
1999 Ford F-150 - Happy to be a Ford F150 owner.
The look of the truck is good. The interior is roomy and sporty at the same time. The bed of the truck is large enough to move an entire room of furniture if you pack it right. Its ride is smooth and not bumpy as with many other pick up trucks. Mine is white with black trim and I love it.
Story
My family and I went to the Chili Cookoff; which is a South Florida event. There are country singers that come out and sing all day and night long. People all drive their trucks out there. We had a great time driving there and meeting new people too.
Pros
The interior is roomy enough for 6 people; which comes in handy. My family goes on road trips in it and it's so comfortable for my family of 4 with luggage and anything else we want to take along.
Cons
Because it is a pick up truck it is hard to find parking sometimes. It's hard to see out the back to back up when you are in a congested area. It's not the best on gas mileage.
