2011 Ford F-150 - Great ride, decent fuel economy
F-150 Lariat with EcoBoost. Has power combined with decent fuel economy. Lariat trim level doesn't leave much to want. Solid, capable truck that is tough enough to easily pull a loaded trailer and get through a heavy snowstorm, but luxurious enough to take anywhere. Beautiful on the inside and out - great styling, a much tougher look than the previous design and a much tougher feel, but doesn't look like a vehicle that's just meant for work. Tough luxury!
Story
I went to the dealership and signed for the vehicle the night before I could actually bring in my trade and pick it up. There was a HUGE thunderstorm that moved in while I was at the dealership. I made my salesman go out in the storm and move my truck into the bay overnight! I named it Bullet (it's silver).
Pros
Love the EcoBoost power. Put the pedal down and get pushed back against your seat. The style is amazing and the added room in the crew cab is amazing. Can seat the tallest person you know with room to spare. Also, a flat rear floor makes loading and unloading in the back of the cab easy. Back up camera is so awesome, it's hard to drive a vehicle without it. Makes hooking up to a trailer a breeze. Heated and cooled seats for any weather condition. Cons
My least favorite thing about my truck is the light wood grain with black and silver interior. I can certainly overlook it, but in 2012 it was changed to a dark wood grain. Fuel economy is good, better than my last truck, but not as good as I had hoped.
2004 Ford F-150 - Dependable. Long lasting.
I bought the vehicle from a used truck dealership in Wisconsin. It was previously titled in Illinois. One of my first complaints was more about the dealership I bought the truck from and not the truck itself. I have had to do minimal repairs to the truck. I just recently put new tires on, Michelin LTX/MS2, which perform great during the summer and I will soon see how they perform in the winter. I previously had General Grabbers which were great in both the summer and winter however they wore much faster than I expect the Michelin to wear.
Story
This truck has been reliable when we needed it to be. We have taken it on countless vacations and use it every year to go cut down and bring home a Christmas tree.
Pros
Like I said I have had very little mechanical problems with the truck. The truck has only been out of commission for a total of probably two weeks in the 3 years I have owned it for repairs. It is an extremely reliable truck and I don't think I will get away from owning a Ford in the near future. I plan on owning this truck for many years to come.
Cons
The biggest negative about this truck is the spark plugs. They are extremely difficult to reach and have a tendency to break off in the head. I have purchased a specialty tool to complete this task which made the job easy, however, it was quite time consuming. I would be appreciative of Ford if they would own up to this problem and remedy it.
