My 1997 Ford Explorer is one of the best cars I have owned.
Story
The car is perfect for taking my dog to the beaches. It has enough room for both my German Shepherd and for all of my beach stuff--blankets and a cooler. We just rolled up to the beach, popped open the trunk and hung out right there, using the car for both a bit of protection from the sun and to just cool off at in between swimming.
Pros
When I bought the car, it was already ten years old, and I got it simply to fill the hole that my previous Explorer had left, but it was just a temporary fix. Now, eleven years later, I realize that the Explorer was anything but temporary. With little more than just a bit of maintenance a year to upkeep it, it has run perfectly ever since I bought it, providing me a safe and reliable car. Living in Michigan, it is important to have a car that can be a variety of things and can do all of that through three feet of snow. We purchased the Explorer used in 2012 because my wife was starting a new job about an hour from home and we live in Michigan with lots of snow and bad road conditions. The Explorer has been a great winter vehicle for us! My wife has picked up two stuck lady's in the past couple of years and they were in all wheel drive vehicles. The Explorer really preforms well in snow and ice. In the summer months the Explorer is a treat to drive. Our family likes to take day trips to farmers markets and butcher shops and we will usually have 4 or 5 coolers in the back with plenty of room for other trinkets purchased along the way. The only con I would say it has is the lack of room for tall, long legged people. We have a daughter so with the car seat behind the front passenger there is not much leg... (more)

We went to southbend IN. On a day trip we all hade lots of fun and it was in the 90s so I'm glad the Explorer has air conditioning

This dealership wasn't great. I got ripped off. If you want to think typical used car salesman, that was my experience. I'm never going back here again, and I'm telling everyone I know about how horrible it was.

Offered the best price for the car I wanted, salesman was very friendly, they offered great financing through Ford credit. They picked me up at my house and brought me there. I was there a long time and they gave me lunch.
