2008 Ford Explorer - Reliable, efficient, and safe
I enjoy the size of the 2008 Explorer. The car has a safe, SUV feel to it, yet it doesn't feel like driving a vehicle that is excessive in length and overall size. I have driven across the country four times in the Ford Explorer and have experienced virtually no issues with the vehicle.
Story
Being able to turn off on a dirt road and wind over and around hundreds of mountains.
Pros
My favorite feature of the car is the four-wheel drive (4x4). The four-wheel drive option provides a secure piece of mind in knowing the car is quite capable of maneuvering through difficult terrain and whether. The car performs very well in four-wheel drive, as I have witnessed the performance in the mud, rain, and snow.
Cons
Cloth interior has proven to be a challenge to maintain and keep clean. It seems to absorb much of the potential dirt in the car. I have also had a minor leak in my rear tire, which has proven slightly inconvenient at times.
2000 Ford Explorer - Excellent, safe, reliable
I love my car. I feel confident driving in bad weather because it is AWD. Even though it is older it has had no mechanical issues to date. It is easy to drive with good handling regardless of the size. It is also extremely functional. The size of the vehicle allows me to transport almost anything and I can fit up to 5 people comfortably. I've used it on numerous occasions to drive groups of friends to events and also help people move or transport furniture or other large items. I'm so glad I bought this vehicle and I have no regrets.
Story
I used this vehicle to take a group to the Rolling Stones concert in Pittsburgh. We were able to take 5 people and everything we needed to tailgate without feeling cramped. It was so much fun!
Pros
The AWD makes it safe in poor weather. It is roomy and functional.
Cons
It has poor gas mileage. It's not very stylish.
