2009 Ford Explorer - Good but falling apart.

Since it's a used car, we're finding that after a few years of owning her, our truck is starting to fall apart. Things are failing internally, and the cost to replace these old parts are coming close to what we paid for her when we purchased her. Another downside would be the lack of a step to get in. My elderly mother has a very hard time getting in the front seat (forget about crawling behind the seat to the back!), and even I sometimes have a problem getting into the car if I'm wearing a skirt or dress.
Story
I certainly won't forget when the axel broke and we almost got into an accident on the highway! Or that time the breaks decided to stop working! Hoo boy, fun times!
Pros
The car is not terrible on gas, considering it's a big truck, and it is very roomy inside.
Cons
Too costly to replace/fix at this point some parts are hard to find.

The Ford Explorer is one of the best SUVs I will ever own. It has seen everything and taken me everywhere. I had this car for over 12 years before I traded it in. If I did not need a new car, I bet I would still be driving the Explorer.
Story
I drove the SUV on the beach many times to go fishing off of the coast. It was a very enjoyable experience for me. I was able to pack everything I needed and take it right to the beach.
Pros
It handled everything I threw at it without issues. I drove it on the beach to go fishing. I have taken it offloading to go camping. I towed a small trailer with it. In other words, this SUV put some serious work in and almost never had an issue.
Cons
The Explorer did not get great gas mileage. I swear I was always filling the tank up. When I had to replace tires, they were a little expensive, but I do like that it had big tires.

The sales persons are very much reliable and nice individuals to speak to concerning all of my doubts and the environment is quite friendly. I became very much frustrated and while entering this dealership all of my doubts were solved and I ended up having a great experience. The sales rep and schedule indicated that the price would be quite fantastic and because of the staff members.
