1996 Ford Explorer - The Ford Keeps Running
I really enjoy my vehicle I had it for about 3 years and it's had it's moments where something wouldn't work. I did some research and I seen that they are known for having a weak transmission. So far I have not experienced anything wrong with the transmission. It's a little rusty at the bottom. Sense I don't keep it in the garage I guess, but it stays tough with a 4.0 Motor under the hood.
Story
Going through the snow just has great control when I drive through it.
Pros
The motor is very good 4.0 It also has a lot of power great for riding in the snow. Also sense it's an American car the parts are cheap.
Cons
Sense it's a 6 cylinder it's quite a gas hog.
1999 Ford Explorer - Extremely Reliable
I really like this SUV. If I had the chance to choose another car, I would not. I would buy the Explorer again. I really appreciate the space it provides. If I want to take a bunch of people with me, I am easily able too. In addition, when I had to move, I was able to fit so many things in my vehicle that I would not have been able to do in something smaller.
Story
This my first car, so I have many memories of my friends and I running around in the back roads of where I am from. We used to all load up and go look for haunted locations for a good scare. The Explorer never failed to get us out of the situations that we wound up in.
Pros
My favorite things about the vehicle is it's size. I also greatly enjoy it's 4 wheel drive capabilities. Where I live, we have bad winters, so I enjoy the fact that I can count on it to get me from point A to point B no matter what the driving conditions. This also leads me to the point the this car has been highly reliable. In the six year that I have had it, it has not had any major issues.
Cons
There are very few cons for me when it comes to this vehicle. However, the biggest thing would be the fact that it does not have very good gas mileage. However, this is a rather old vehicle and was created before gas mileage was such a big deal. I also dislike the fact that it is not big enough to haul many things. It has a small trailer hitch in the back, but there is no light hookup.
