2014 Ford Explorer - Outstanding vehicle for athletes.
The Ford Explorer model I have has the 3.5L V-6 4 wheel drive base. I've driven for 13,000 miles with no mechanical problems at all. As a track & field coach the size is great! I can safely travel with 5 athletes and load the back end with all sorts of equipment (starting blocks, push pull sled, medicine balls, shot puts, javelins, etc.). There have been times when I've had to remove gear and use the back seats to transport more athletes and I still have room for important track equipment. Fantastic for my purposes.
Story
Going to a Regional Track meet with lots of room for a change, and seeing my athletes sleep most comfortably on the way home!
Pros
Bigger engine that is usually on other models than mine (BASE). The large cargo area. The ability to transport 7 people or 5 and have lots of room for equipment.

2003 Ford Explorer - I really enjoy this truck
My 2003 Ford Explorer is a beautiful vehicle. It is a solid, strong well built machine. It has close to 200,000 miles on it and it still operates just as good today as the day I first purchased it. I love its power and especially enjoy the 4 wheel drive. It is a pleasure to drive in the snow.
Story
I had a lot of fun back in the winter when I brought it up to the local high school and played around in the parking lot, the 4 wheel drive was so fun in the snow.
Pros
The interior is in excellent condition. I love the stereo and DVD player, excellent sound quality. The seats are very comfortable. The exterior is holding up well, after all these years it still shines like it just came off of the production line. Overall I am extremely pleased with the vehicle. It has to be one of the best vehicles that I have ever owned. Other than normal upkeep, it hasn't given me many problems.
Cons
I'd have to say the only negative thing I have experienced is the alarm will sometimes go off for no good reason. However, a little wd-40 on the hinges and a couple of opening and closing of all of the doors usually takes care of the problem. Other than that I really haven't experienced any horrible repairs.
