The vehicle I drive is great for everyday use. I have three small children and I love that I can fit three large car seats in and still have room for other items, people or dogs if needed. The third row is what we needed and it passes that test. As my children grow I am afraid they won't have enough leg room in that 3rd row, though. The very back trunk space is spacious enough to fit our double stroller but not too large. The vehicle is still pretty short which I like for parking. When the air is turned on high one of the vents does rattle and I have just recently noticed an issue defrosting my front windshield. These are minor problems. We have driven this vehicle across country but mostly I drive short distances and the vehicle has held up well.
Story
Two weeks after buying my vehicle we drove it halfway across the country with all three kids pulling a trailer which had the 2 dogs in it and all our luggage. We drove from North Carolina to Iowa. We have the kids' DVD player hooked up and it drove us comfortably there. We were glad we had found a reliable, comfortable vehicle for our family.
Pros
I love the third row and the ease of access to get back there. The second row seat easily pops down out of the way so my kids can climb back. I like that the vehicle isn't huge; it is the perfect size to drive for me and park. I love the backup camera and signal if I am about to hit something. The touch screen is a nice feature and the mood lighting can be customized so I have it set to pink, which I think is nice. I thought I would love the keyless automatic start, but I don't ever really use it.
Cons
I don't have a lot of negatives. I wish navigation came with it. I have a nice touch screen display with no nav so I am constantly fiddling with my phone for directions. I wish there was a little bit more leg room in the third row, but honestly by the time my kids need the space they won't be in car seats which will give them more room.

Overall, my 2014 Ford Explorer has turned out to be a good buy for my family and me. It's got a sporty look and feel to it, which is something I enjoy. It's roomy for all the family, and everyone is happy with the comfort of it. With the third-row seat we can even bring along friends on our next adventure if we want to do so. Folded down, the third-row seat is handy for suitcases and other gear on road trips, for loading groceries, and for filling it up with most anything we need to haul in it. The entertainment system in it are nice and includes Bluetooth technology, USB port an excellent sound system. The GPS is functional and handy. It's a little slow on performance with a V6, but after having another SUV with a V8, it's understandable that I would feel the difference. It does accel... (more)
Story
We took our Explorer for a road trip to San Antonio right after purchase and had a blast driving in it! Loved the sound system, comfort and room for luggage and all the souvenirs we brought back with us. Was a great trip to break it in.
Pros
Sporty look and feel. Handles well under all road conditions. Decent gas mileage. Roomy for the family. Nice entertainment package.
Cons
V6 was all that was available. Interior not as roomy as some other comparable SUVs/crossovers. Small problem with electric windows, but that could a problem isolated to this vehicle alone.
