2011 Ford Explorer Owner Ratings & Reviews

2011 Ford Explorer - Love it!
This vehicle is perfect for our family. It has spacious seats even in the 3rd row. I love the interior and exterior design. I'm not sure what a con of this vehicle is. I would like if it had just a little bit more power.
Story
Being comfortable while taking road trips!!
Pros
-3Rd row seats power fold and store for extra space
-interior is nice
-cool media system (touch screen)
Cons
-It has 2 sunroofs but the second doesn't open
-wish it was a little faster
2011 Ford Explorer - Great vehicle, but could be better
I love my 2011 Ford Explorer XLT. My wife and I bought it when we were looking for a family vehicle just before our daughter was born. It has all of the features we wanted without having to buy a mini van. It has a ton of space so we can fit all the necessary baby items in it and still get 6+ passengers in there, but it's not so big you can't park it. My wife has a hard time parking anything, and she can easily back into a parking spot now with the backup camera and sensors. The car drives and handles great. I love that it has 290hp, but gets relatively good gas mileage since it is still a V6. My one critique of the vehicle is that the SYNC system is unreliable. When it's working, it is great. I love that it reads texts to me and it syncs up very easily with my phone. However, at least... (more)
Story
The first time we took our daughter in it and she could look out the moon roof at the clouds. She had the funniest look on her face, completely awe-struck.
Pros
It has great power while still retaining relatively good fuel economy. I love the panoramic moon roof, and our young daughter really likes looking at the clouds on car rides. The SYNC system is easy to use (when it works properly) and very helpful. It has seating for 7 people, and even with the 3rd row of seats in the up position there is still plenty of room for cargo. The leather seats feel like they are very high quality. The backup sensor and camera make it very easy to park. It has plenty of outlets for charging devices.
Cons
The ground clearance isn't very high, and I frequently scrape the front spoiler on the pavement pulling in and out of parking lots. The SYNC system goes out from time to time, which is fairly easy to fix but is quite annoying to do. The car is only 5 years old, and some of the exterior panels around the doors and windows are starting to feel loose, a problem I've had with previous model Explorers. The headrests in the 3rd row are rather tall, making it very difficult to see out of the rear view mirror when they are up.
