My vehicle is very reliable. I like that it is fully loaded with the heated seats, heated mirrors, rear back up beeper, leather seats, and third row seating.
Story
Once during the winter season I got stuck in a trench with at least 5 feet of snow. It was hard but it was actually a lot of fun trying to push the truck out of the ditch. I love driving my truck around in the snow and mud.
Pros
The biggest pro is the third row seating. I am able to tow around large loads with the seats down and I can tow around up to 7 people with the seats up.
Cons
I have had a lot of wheel and tire issues with this SUV. The tire pressure sensor is always breaking in the summer time.

The Ford Explorer is a joy to drive, whether you are heading to the beach or for a night out on the town. It is the perfect marriage of comfortable ride, safety for your precious cargo, and a smooth, powerful vehicle to take care of all your needs. I have a son in travel hockey which involves lots of long drives with a trunk full of sometimes smelly hockey gear. The Explorer can't fix the stinky gloves and pads, but it is assuring to know that my son and I are traveling safely all over the northeast during some of the worse weather months of the year. The Explorer gives us plenty of room, and a nice sound system to make the ride a little more fun for both of us. When I'm not driving my future NHLer around to rinks, it also gives me a classy ride to take my wife out for a night on the t... (more)
Story
I loved bringing my Explorer to the beach with my wife. Being able to pack a full day's worth of fun in the car is awesome.
Pros
The Explorer has a fantastic amount of room in the back, and with fully fold down seats, that gives us even more room to haul whatever my family needs. The powerful V8 engine not only gets us from point a to point b, but it also makes the ride a lot of fun, too. The safety features grant me the peace of mind to take my family on all of the journeys we can dream. I really value the style of my Explorer, too. Having a large enough vehicle to cart around a couple of kids and my spouse does not have to always equal buying a mini van. You can be a soccer mom in an Explorer, but you don't have t... (more)
Cons
The gas mileage of the Explorer leaves a lot to be desired. This is especially important with the volatile gas prices around the country. I drive my sport utility vehicle quite a bit, especially during my son's travel ice hockey season. We travel all the way from Niagara Falls to Raleigh, North Carolina and the fuel costs can get to be quite taxing on a hockey dad that is already paying through the nose for gear and league fees. I had to replace the blend door actuator at around 30,000 miles. A clicking sound started occurring whenever I turned on the heat. The repair was pretty expensive ... (more)
