Purchasing my Ford Explorer Sport Trac is one of the best financial decisions I have made to date. I got a used 2007 model in 2014, and it has not only met my expectations but greatly exceeded them. I was purchased this vehicle expecting some decent cabin room while still having a bed big enough to do some basic moving. The cabin was the perfect size and actually felt roomier and more comfortable than it seemed at first glance, and the bed space was perfectly enough for everything I have used the truck for. I have done trips in it of over 2,000 miles in three days, and the seat was comfortable the whole way. Driving in increment weather has never been a problem either; the truck works amazingly for everything I have used it for.
Story
I ended up having to drive from Texas to South Florida in this truck, totaling about 2,200 miles in only a few days and driving up to 12 hours a day. I was blown away by not only how well the vehicle handled the mileage, but also the comfort the entire way. The cab size is also really nice to have and made the trip far more enjoyable than if I was in a car.
Pros
The pros on this truck were quickly and amazingly apparent. The seat is extremely comfortable, and with the adjustable back support, I have been able to drive 12+ hours while maintaining much better than expected comfort. I have also unfortunately had to test out the ABS system more than a couple times in the 80,000 miles I have put on the vehicle, and I can confidentially say it has stopped me from crashing, if not saved my life. I also really like how in the bed of the truck there is a removable cover and under it is compartments that I can put tools without having to have a full-bed mou... (more)
Cons
While the cons are few, they definitely do exist. I personally have never had a problem with it, but the bed is fairly small. If you need to move a lot of items, or fairly big items, then it may not be good for you, especially if you are doing something like construction where you will need to carry heavy loads of tools. I also tried to tow a boat once and had some serious problems with swaying and with the truck sounding like it was practically dying the whole way. It felt very unsafe. So if you need to tow trailers or anything heavy, I would strongly recommend against this truck. Anothe... (more)

When I bought this vehicle, I was looking for a good family vehicle because I was pregnant. This was the perfect vehicle for me. I really wanted something with four doors as I had only ever owned two-door vehicles. I also didn't want something that sat up high because I am not very tall. I wanted to make sure I could lift a pumpkin seat in and out of the back seat easily. This vehicle is the perfect height for that. I also loved that it came with a tonneau cover. I really helps me as a mom because I can put the stroller in the bed and leave it there and not worry about it being stolen or damaged because of the elements. It does not have carpet or cloth seats, which is also a plus for a mom. No matter what my son spills, I can easily clean it up. The truck is also very easy to... (more)
Story
Drove to the lake in it with the windows down and stereo up. Had a good time on the way there showing off the build in sub woofers in the back.
Pros
Four doors. Has a good amount of "get up and go," so if I need to get out of the way fast, I can. Easy to maneuver. Sits low enough to easily lift a child or their car seat in and out. Has held a decent dollar value. Tonneau cover. No carpet.
Cons
Automatic transmission. Dimming rear view mirror has problems. Not awesome gas mileage. Shape of the windows. You have to find the correct amount to roll the windows down so that the pressure in the vehicle doesn't bother anyone. Short bed so some things don't fit.
