The 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac is by far and away the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have the upgraded package with leather seats, and it is a breeze to keep clean. Having put 179k miles on it, it has never been put in the shop for anything other than routine maintenance. The cab is roomy enough to fit my family of 4, and the storage capacity in the bed is great for our weekly trips to the grocery store or hardware store. Gets pretty good gas mileage in a suburban area for a V6. Not that truck owners are concerned with aesthetics, but I love the look of it!
Story
My wife and I take the truck to Helen a few times a year. Whether it is sitting in the back watching fireworks, or listening to a music festival, we never have to worry about a place to sit!
Pros
My favorite features, in so specific order: 1) Flexibility - Being able to use a truck as a family vehicle as well as a hauler of groceries, tools, trash, etc. 2) Maintenance - Little to no effort required to maintain the truck 3) Reliability - 179k miles and no issues to speak of! 4) Gas Mileage - 22 mpg in this economy for a V6? Yes please!
Cons
I'm not sure there are many cons I can think of off hand, but one small issue is the lack of a carpeting option for the cab. It only comes with a plastic coating. While it doesn't bother me, my wife would like a more "luxurious" feel when traveling long distances.
