This was my first major car purchase. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The gray exterior and dark gray interior matched my style perfectly. The car performed exceptionally well. No major problems even after 100,000+ miles. I get more than 40 mpg and considerably more than that on the highway. This car handles curves and corners well. Driving stick shift was a thrill! I didn't learn to drive a standard until I purchased the vehicle. This was an awesome vehicle to learn on and very forgiving. It may be a small vehicle but it can still do work! I've hauled tons of potting soil, wood chips and other gardening supplies in the truck. Overall, a great purchase that I would highly recommend to anyone.
Story
I live in the northeast of the United States. We get extreme snow and ice in the winter. I remember a few winters ago we have a huge snow storm. While all the other vehicles were having a hard time maintaining control in these weather conditions but my vehicle handled like a champ!
Pros
Extremely good gas mileage (40+ mpg) Smooth handling - handles curves and difficult maneuvers very well. Well-built engine - on mechanical issues even after extended use. Handles extreme weather conditions (snow, ice) very well.
Cons
Small interior - not a lot of room Only two doors and it sits low - could be difficult for elderly or those that are less mobile. Seating is a bit stiff/uncomfortable. Might be uncomfortable for an extended trip.

I bought the car used for a total of $3500 back in 2010 and the considering it was 7 years old at that point it still runs as good as it did the day I bought it. It's a two door coupe so it's very small but for a personal car for taking on commute for work or school it's great. Very fuel efficient as well I think I get around 27 mpg in city.
Story
I got the car about three weeks before Prom and I got to drive me and my date to our Prom in Fort Worth and since the car is so small it was quite a sight to see me all stuffed in the driving seat with my poofy dress.
Pros
I love how small it is and it's ability to squeeze into tight parking spots. It gets great gas mileage and that's with me taking it through DFW and being in traffic a lot so if you're not living in the city it would be even better on the gas. Doesn't require a lot of upkeep I've had it used for some time now without having to do anything but oil changes.
Cons
If you need a car for family or any more than two people it's lacking in space being two door and the backseat that it does have doesn't leave a lot of room.
