I own a blue Ford Escape 2010, and it is the best car I have owned. I absolutely love it. It sits up just high enough that I can see better than I was able to in my previous vehicles (which were sedans) and has enough seating to hold my kids in the back. The trunk is nicely sized and is open to the inside of the vehicle. It gets pretty good gas mileage and has needed very little maintenance in comparison to some other vehicles my household has had in the past, as well as vehicles from that same year.
Story
My husband and I drove this vehicle to pick up our kids during a snow/ice storm in the area. Normally, the road that we had to go down gives trouble to four-wheel drive vehicles, but our Ford Escape just purred right down the road and back as though it was just a sunny day in May. I've never had an easier drive in inclement weather than we did with this vehicle.
Pros
It gets decent gas mileage (I usually have to fill the 15 gallon tank approximately every 375-400 miles). It rides nicely. My vehicle came with back tinted windows that help to keep the car a little cooler and safer for little ones, yet I can still see easily at night. It has a window hatch opening for the trunk so you don't have to open the full back of the trunk to get into it from the outside. Automatic locks and power windows work great, love that the key has the buttons for the locks instead of a separate key fob. It has two cup holders in the front for the front seats and then two cu... Cons
Sometimes it rides like a truck, so it's a little more bouncy than it would be in a luxury sedan. If you have good shocks and struts on it, the ride is still fairly smooth. The other con is when you use the windshield wiper spray button, the wipers run while hitting the button. Then after they finish cleaning up the windshield, they go one more time, which sometimes can leave a streak or two on the windshield that wouldn't be there if they turned off prior to the extra swipe. This car also requires steady preventive maintenance. It starts to run a little sluggish when it is overdue for an ... (more)

Here are my feelings about the Ford Escape. When I got it I knew I was going to love it. I got it at 125,000 miles and after going coast to coast, down and up, and here and there, it is still running like a champ. Love how spacious it is for being a small SUV and I love the gas mileage. Great for going on trips! It gets about 32 mpg on the interstate and that is nice whenever I am going state to state. The built in roof rack actually supports a decent amount of weight so I didn't have to buy anything aftermarket. It has side rails on the side, although its not a big rig it is nice to have that extra step just incase you have an older passenger or someone who is shorter. The back windshield wiper is an awesome addition and it holds lots of wiper fluid. I use it quite often and its laste... (more)
Story
One of the most memorable stories in this vehicle was taking it from Kansas to California to camp, surf, and just travel the road with it. it drove on beaches, desert roads, forded (small) creeks, gravel roads, pot holes, and every type of terrain that came in our way.
Pros
Very spacious. I can sleep in the back, great stock roof racks/cross bars. it can hold my top box and I have a solar panel on it, 6 disc CD changer, great mpg even when O2 sensor is going out, rear windshield wiper, cruise control for when I am on the interstate very strong all wheel drive. it can honestly do some four wheel drive capabilities even though it's just AWD, fold down seats, side rails for stepping on for shorter passengers/drivers, very deep center console, power windows, power locks, great heater and A/C lots of storage (center console, door storage, head unit pocket), great... (more)
Cons
There are honestly not a lot of bad things about this vehicle. It has everything I need. There's some things that I didn't like that I will mention here that aren't that big of a deal but didn't really effect me. It's a Ford, so it rusts. It's a functional vehicle but I didn't say its a pretty one. It got so rusty that, my driver's side rail rusted off and luckily it fell off in my drive way and not on the road. The 6 disk CD changer doesn't have a cassette deck or an AUX port. So unless you change the stock player, you have to use cords or radio and not a cassette AUX/AUX cord There is no... (more)

The sales person was knowledgeable about the vehicle and was able to answer all of my questions. The sales person also went out of his was to give me the better deal between two different dealerships.
