My first experience with driving a Ford Escape, was when I had one as a rental car. I am bigger than average, and I fit into it comfortably (huge plus). Plus, I thought the dashboard was laid out well and I was able to find everything easily. So when my car was having problems, I went to the Ford Dealership and purchased a Ford Escape, for less than $16,000 in late 2006. This was so much cheaper than many other cars cost, and it satisfied my needs well. I sometimes have the need to carry things about, and the SUV gives you more storage than most. I like white, my car is white. The interior is fine, it may be a bit plain but that is OK with me. I have a stick shift which makes the car seem a bit sporty. I have a four cylinder engine, which provides plenty of pickup for me. I wouldn't h... (more)
Story
As mentioned, drove the car on several trips from San Diego to Kansas City. Even with a ton (so to speak) of stuff in the car, it still drove well and was not under powered. I enjoyed greatly the I-70 in Western Colorado, as scenic as could be.
Pros
Car is dependable, low running costs, and fun to drive. The SUV part of the back gives you the ability to haul some things (like a big screen TV), and even save money on delivery costs, sometimes. It has held up well for the first 80,000 miles and I expect it to continue. It is smaller, but surprisingly comfortable. I have actually driven it 800 miles in a day a number of times, on a trip. And not have had my back hurt, or anything. The gas mileage on the trips approached 30 mpg.
Cons
It can have a rough ride, if the road is rough. The car I have does not have a cruise control. Also, I think it would be expensive to replace the radio/CD with a new one, with Bluetooth, GPS, etc. Which I would like to have, but can live without for now.

Overall, in the last three years that I have had the car, it is extremely reliable and very versatile. I commute everyday, one hour each way and it has been my daily driver. The car is very comfortable, easy to drive and can fit a lot of people or stuff, depending on what you need it for.
Story
We like to take my car camping. The last time that we went camping we went with family. My car was able to fit two ice chest, clothing, tents, four chairs, corn hole, several other lawn games, food, two people, fire wood and even more.
Pros
My car is silver, which is very nice to help keep the car clean even though I haven't washed it in a while. The car is very large, you can fit all kinds of stuff that you would normally need a truck for in it with the seats down. When you have the seats down the back is very large. The seats are very easy to put up or down and I can do it by myself in less than 2 minutes.
Cons
The cloth seats get things like dog fur stuck in it very easy and can be difficult to get off. The gas mileage on this car is not the best, I average about 18-19 mpg on my daily commute. The alternator went out a year and half after my purchase.
