I have had this car for about 6 months now and I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I bought the car after I burned out the clutch in my mustang. The ford escape had over 100,000 miles when I bought it and the vehicle still runs great. It has given me good gas miles still around 25. I really like how spacious the vehicle is and I like the leather seats. The moon roof and navigation systems are nice additions. I am looking forward to see how well it will work in the snow this winter. The escape is a V6 but I think it is losing some of its power since it has over 100,000 miles in it. I have taken the vehicle in off road situations and have had no problems getting stuck. I wouldn't trust it towing anything though. I have heard the newer versions are v4s which are nice for gas mileage but robs th... (more)
Story
I am from the Pittsburgh area and this vehicle has allowed me to buy a kayak which in turn allows me to kayak the rivers during the pirates games!
Pros
The things I love about the vehicle are the amount of space. I really like the leather seats and the heated seats. I also really like the moon roof and that all of my stuff is electronic. I like the center media center. The navigation is great and the satellite radio is a great addition. I also really like the rear windshield wipers. I like how the rear door opens up with the window and the door. I also like the buttons on the door to open the door without having to use my keys.
Cons
The car makes a creaking noise around turns. The vehicle has seem to lost a bit of power. I don't like the power window location I tend to put down the rear windows when I mean to put down the front windows. The rear windows also don't go down the whole way and back seat passengers complain about it.

Vehicle rides smooth and just floats along the road. It is roomy inside to include my family of four and two dogs. We take it to the beach every weekend, and we love the sunroof. It performs great on the beach and the sand. It doesn't like the winter ice, but likes to play with the snow. The Escape does eat some gas up fully loaded, but does great on the highway for pick up and passing other cars. With a family of four, you still can go shopping with plenty of room for packages in the back. We tow two jet ski's with no problem, plenty of power! Wish the mirrors were a little bigger when towing. The tires are quiet and smooth ride. There is no road noise inside car. The Escape is everything you would expect from Ford. A very happy customer.
Story
Easy parking in the city. Lots of room for fishing stuff. I left the city and went fishing. On the trip down I ran into my buddy who was having car trouble. I gave him a lift to the beach. Not only did I fit all his stuff in my car with four people and two dogs, but we had an enjoyable trip.
Pros
Roomy inside, smooth and quiet ride, and no major problems.
Cons
Mirrors were kind of small when towing, and it sucks on gas mileage.
