2012 Ford Escape - Sturdy
I have owned my Escape for 2 years. If I had the choice of a new vehicle again, I would do a little more research.
Story
I drove it to work and back, then soccer practice.
Pros
It fits my family, it sits higher than the newer Escape models, decent gas mileage for an all wheel drive vehicle.
Cons
The body style is prone to rust and bad drainage, I already have to repaint the hood and rear hatch because of the water damage/rust. It tends to ride a bit rougher than other SUV's in its class.
2010 Ford Escape - Everything has been a pleasure, no complaints.
The 2010 Ford Escape that I purchased has a number of perks, such as a camera that activates when you use the car in reverse, seat warmers, a moon light, usb and Bluetooth sync for use with smart phones. The car drives smooth and is able to use alternative fuels such as E85 ethanol. The computer system is advanced and it will automatically alert you when tire pressure is low, oil needs changing, fuel is low or a number of other hazards. I feel safe driving this vehicle, while at the same time very comfortable.
Story
I have used my 2010 Ford Escape to storm chase and one time the storm chased me! For about 40 miles in western Minnesota a storm followed us while we darted past cars and animals while the handling was excellent.
Pros
The 2010 Ford Escape is technology driven with all the perks of an advanced computer. Hazard alerts, rear view camera, and entertainment interfaces are the biggest draw.
Cons
Space is limited in the rear seats. If you have two car seats in the back, it is difficult for the middle seat to be used by anyone. The trunk is also limited in size.
