My wife and I previously had a two-door vehicle but found out we had a little bun in the oven. We then decided that a two door would not work as we needed to get in and out easily. Here comes the Ford Escape. The interior is bigger than we are used to but not overly large. Living in Hawaii, parking spots tend to be a little smaller. The engine can accelerate very quickly for it being a four cylinder, and it barely seems to make a sound. All of the electronics work well as my wife uses the Bluetooth to call her friends and play music without having to stare at her phone.
Story
My favorite memory of this vehicle is going to the beach and not having to worry about how much room we would have for all the things we had packed.
Pros
The overall best piece is how well this fits our family life as we have a small dog along with us (two) parents and our new addition. There is enough room for groceries in the back as well as space to store the stroller. The overall acceleration is something I wouldn't have expected from something this small. It feels so smooth while in town or the highway.
Cons
I would suggest that the backseats can be moved forward or backward a bit. If they could find room to make the seats fold into the floor (like new, huge SUVs), that would also be a plus.

It doesn't have a whole lot of power, but I haven't exactly been using it for off-roading. However, I bought it in Hawaii, which is very mountainous and going up hills makes it strain pretty hard, and it takes a while for it to switch gears. Other cars would pass me normally while I was waiting for it to register what I was asking it to do. I also thought it was almost comically small, like a clown car version of an SVU.
Story
No.
Pros
The vehicle never cause me one second of trouble until it hit one hundred thousand miles, more about that in cons. It is pretty great on gas mileage and has a lot of room in it for normal, every-day driving and shopping, etc. I've driven in a lot of different places with different weather and road conditions, from Hawaii to Michigan, and it has handled like a champ.
Cons
If you're looking for something you can use to move furniture, or large items in, this is not the SUV for you. It has a good amount of space in the back, but it's not meant to help you move house. In high wind conditions, the light weight, plus height of the vehicle has made me feel a little insecure at times. NOTHING has ever happened, I just got a little scared by the wind whereas if I'm in a traditional car or a larger SUV it wouldn't affect me. Also, right when I hit 100,000 miles, things started to go wrong. First, my starter failed, which isn't that big of a deal, but then my en... (more)
