The Ford Escape is great for outdoor activities and for carrying a lot of stuff. It gets pretty good gas mileage for its size and age. I have over 50,000 miles and it still runs great. There have been some minor recalls on the vehicle but overall it's a great car.
Story
Parking is an issue in my neighborhood and it is mostly street parking. One morning after we had a large snow storm and the plows had already plowed the street, almost burying many cars. I woke up to get to work and saw many people shoveling out their cars but I was able to drive right out.
Pros
The amount of storage on this car is great. I have moved several times and owning an Escape has made it much easier. I still need to get a truck for larger pieces of furniture, but just about everything else can fit in it. The design of the car makes it ideal for driving on all kinds of terrain. It is great on wet roads, dirt roads, snow and ice,. I like to be outdoors in all seasons and this vehicle can handle an icy dirt road with no problem. Cons
The model of Ford Escape I have has only a V4 engine option which effects the power of the car and means no towing capability. This can be annoying as I still have to rent or borrow a truck to move furniture. The power steering did go out in my car once although this has since been recalled and should be solved by now.

I owned a Ford Focus previous to this Escape and being that they are related so closely, the driving experiences are similar. It handles excellent, albeit a bit stiff at times on rough surfaces. We have the 4WD model which is adaptive, so it activates the 4WD when needed and disables it when it's not needed. By adjusting it on the fly we are able to see mpg ratings in the early to mid 30's for everyday city & highway driving (more city than not).
Story
Taking this car around tight corners is a blast. With the firm suspension and the corner control system, you always feel as though you're in control and the car feels as though it won't let you run it off the road by accident. There is a smooth curvy road just past Frankenmuth that my wife and I enjoy driving, with farmland on either side, it's a wonderfully fun and relaxing cruise on the week... (more)
Pros
The features are incredible. The adaptive 4WD is quick and effective. A standard feature is the turn control which senses when you are going too quickly into a turn and will automatically apply brake pressure to slow you down and keep you in control. The soft touch surfaces are nice as well, the whole dash has a soft but textured feel.
Cons
One of the cons I have is the inability to manually control the 4WD system. Sometimes I would like to have the 4WD locked for added peace of mind, but there is no way to do so. Also, we have had 1 wheel bearing go bad (30k miles in) and thankfully is covered under the factory warranty. It also does not come with a standard cabin filter, so the windshield can get dirty when using the vent to eliminate fog and ice.

This dealership was great because the sales people are very knowledgeable, but also up front with the customers. I was able to get a great deal on a used car and never have to worry about being overcharged or anything shady when I take it in for service. I really love the people at Varsity Ford, since they are locals and have been around forever.

This dealership has great inventory. I know any dealership can locate just about any car you want, but this dealership has a huge inventory right on their lot. They have a good service department and accident repair service. You can usually get an appointment very quickly for a repair. The sales people are courteous and prompt.
