2016 Ford Escape -
This vehicle is perfect for me. It is high off the ground which I love, but not too big to navigate, like a bigger SUV or truck would be. When driving a car or a sedan, I feel too close to the ground. The windshield is huge, which makes me have a great view of the road(s) I am driving on. It makes me more aware of my surroundings. It is big enough but not too big. It gets pretty good mileage, and I only have to fill my tank every eight days or so, even with a forty-minute commute each way.
Story
I went camping recently and was able to fit all of my equipment in the trunk. I went through bumpy dirt roads, but it was fun.
Pros
I love the Bluetooth feature of this vehicle. I can stream music from my phone, but there is still a CD player if I want to be more "old school." Additionally, I use the rearview camera frequently, and it has greatly improved my confidence while driving in reverse/backing out of parking spots. Finally, the blind spot feature on the side mirrors has saved my butt more than once. I rely on those heavily now, and they have greatly improved my driving experience.
Cons
The tires seem to need air fill-ups quite frequently. That could be a tire issue rather than a vehicle issue, but they are the tires that came with the vehicle from the dealership.
2010 Ford Escape - Good vehicle for the price
The Ford Escape is a decent smaller sized SUV. It is roomy on the inside with seating for five, plus a trunk section for anything you can think of. I bought it used from a car dealership. My only dislike is occasional tire pressure error messages that will pop up, even if the tire is not low.
Story
I like being able to drive this vehicle around town and be inconspicuous. No one knows it is me. I'm just another soccer mom on the prowl.
Pros
This vehicle gets great gas mileage. I just filled up and the readout said 400 miles to empty! Compared to the gas guzzler I drove before, this was fantastic! I can fit all of the kids and the hubby in here, plus the groceries and a garbage can in the rear cargo space. I have even fit a full sized dog crate in the back. Vehicle is all wheel drive, so runs good in the winter. Great stereo, cup space for four people and looks good going down the road.
Cons
Wish my Escape was 4 wheel drive, but didn't realize they made it when I bought the AWD version. Not much negative otherwise. A little road noise, like most Fords have. Tire pressure sensor messages pop up even when tire is not low.
