2014 Ford Escape - Great for road trips.
I have owned this vehicle for over 3 years, performed all recommended maintenance to date, and I am not let down by choosing this vehicle. It is excellent for road trips which I have done numerous times, with great gas mileage.
Story
One time my husband & I went antique shopping in it. Antique shopping is something we enjoy doing. It was my birthday, it we went to several shops and filled up with vehicle literally inside and out. So much that we put the back seats down, loaded up the inside, and even had a couple of old ladders tied down to the roof rack on top. I'll never forget this trip because of the items we bought an... Pros
For an SUV, the gas mileage is perfect. I have been on countless long distance road trips making nearly 29 miles per gallon. The vehicle also have plenty of truck space that can fit multiple luggage bags and plenty of groceries. I also enjoy that the transmission has to ability to be changed from automatic to standard. I find when driving in standard, the transmission shifts gears much easier. The rear camera is also useful for driving in reverse.
Cons
It is definitely not the most attractive vehicle if you are buying a vehicle for looks. One negative is that it does not take off quick when initially taking off. Whether stopped at a red light, stop sign, or just taking off for the first time from park, the get up and go is slow. But that is to be expected in a 4 cylinder engine. I also would wish that the warranty was further extended in mileage terms. Even though the vehicle has been very dependable thus far, it would be great if I had a longer factory warranty.
2015 Ford Escape - Great Compact SUV
The Ford Escape is a great little SUV. The computer system inside the car is a bit hard to use however, once set up properly, it works great. If you are used to a larger vehicle you will feel a bit close in this Escape. The cloth seats are very comfortable and I love all the different settings for the steering wheel and driver seat! If you have kids, the pull down arm rest and cupholders in the middle of the back seat is a life saver for separation.
Story
When trying to get out of a parking spot at walmart, the rear back up camera and the second tiny mirrors on the side view mirrors are a huge help!
Pros
The car drives and handles marvelously. The seats are very comfortable and you can customize to your liking. My favorite part of the car is the steering wheel customizing. You can pull it closer for shorter people!
Cons
I do not see the point of phone calls through the radio... lack of privacy and all the background noise from the kids deems it unusable. It is very small on the inside. I had thought it would be a bit wider, if you have passengers/kids in the back they don't have much space.
