2007 Ford Escape Hybrid - First family car
My spouse and I bought this car right after our first child. We loved this car when we first got it. We custom ordered it, especially since it was a Hybrid.
Story
The car sits high, which I really like. I helped tow a golf cart that some kids got stuck in a ditch.
Pros
The car has a lot of room in the back. The Hybrid feature lets us maximize the gas and sometimes we get better than what was advertised. We have over 120k miles and have had no engine, transmission, or battery problems. This car almost runs as good as it did when we first got it.
Cons
Never get white fabric interior. We chose this because of the ecological feature (made out of recycled bottles). White shows every stain and is very hard to clean. The headliner is also coming off. In an attempt to keep the headliner from totally falling off, we stapled it. The car looks good outwards, and we are trying to keep it looking good inside as well. We also bought the navigation system back in 2007. The current maps (which was loaded via a CD) are out of date. Since we all have smartphones - it is almost useless.
2007 Ford Escape Hybrid - Great on gas!
I love my Ford Escape Hybrid 4x4! It gets great gas mileage, has plenty of room, and I can easily get my canoe on top of it. It has been very dependable with only minor maintenance needed.
Story
I strap my canoe on top of it all the time and just go exploring! I was just driving around one day through some back roads and came upon a waterway I had never seen before. I got the boat off and went for an adventure with my girlfriend. We love finding new places like that!
Pros
Gas mileage is the best. I love how it switches to electric drive to increase fuel economy. The 4x4 is a plus, I'm not worried about getting stuck.
Cons
It was a bit pricier due to being a hybrid. I'd also like an audio input on top of the CD player.
