Our 2016 Ford Edge Sport has proven to be superior to all its competitor’s comparable models. Upon test driving it, it was very noticeable that the quality of its ride was much smoother than that of other SUV’s I’ve driven. We opted for the sport model over others due to pricing incentives alone, however, I was rather impressed with the base model’s standard accessories. The leather seating, leather steering wheel, and panoramic sunroof make it feel as if you are driving a luxury vehicle. For those who are directionally challenged much like myself, you can count on the navigation system to get you where you need to go without abrupt “turn now” instructions like your cellphone provides. The new Sync platform recognizes your speech the first time and is very easy to use when you’re op... (more)
Story
This year, we drove this vehicle to a Halloween party. The girls sat in the back seat wearing tutu's that were covered in glitter. The next morning, everything was covered in glitter. Thinking that it would be a daunting task to remove the glitter from the vehicle, my husband declared that it would be easiest to leave it where it was. Thank God for leather seats and minimum crevices in this ve... (more)
Pros
The ride quality is great. You can expect a smooth ride versus the competitor's comparable models. Whether it be due to the new engine on the current model or not, you can take comfort in knowing that the car has adequate pick up without it feeling too zippy. Gas mileage was a primary concern for us when purchasing our new vehicle. Our Edge came equipped with the Ecoboost engine which has given us significantly better gas mileage than that of our Explorer. City driving we average 26 mpg. This model is very spacious. We've been able to fit two snowboards, a weeks worth of luggage, and four... (more)
Cons
I must say that there are very few cons to purchasing this vehicle outside of the price tag (expect a larger monthly payment due to the pricing of the vehicle). A few “glitches” I’ve noticed are most likely due to user error. Hands free lift gate does not always respond to your foot under the sensor. Sometimes you will have to swing your foot repeatedly under the sensor before it will respond. The car, although having adequate pick up with the Ecoboost engine, may be too sluggish to a driver without this specific engine. Push to start is no longer optional and has become standard. For thos... (more)
