2005 Ford Crown Victoria - This former police interceptor will hold your heart in custody!
This 2005 Ford Crown Victoria (police interceptor edition) is to the automotive world as the mighty lion is to the animal world. There is little question about each subjects dominance in their respective worlds. Much like the lion, the Crown Victoria posses an unexpectedly thunderous roar as your foot plants the accelerator closer to the floor boards. You can almost hear the car begging to be driven harder and harder -- this machine can take just about anything.
Story
It is hard to pick one memory because every experience driving this car is great!
Pros
What is not to like? People don't mess around with a car that looks like an undercover cop, and the Crown Victoria is the quintessential "cop car." Get in the left lane on the highway and you bet your ass everyone moves out of the way! If for some reason they don't, just smash the gas pedal and you'll be out and around them in no time. For a car as large as it is, it moves quick (maybe a cheetah would've been a better comparison). This car handles great for a large cruiser, and you'll sit in (relatively) plus comfort as you whip around corners. On top of all that, these cars are legends in... (more)
Cons
This is where it gets difficult, but, if I have to nit-pick, the only down sides are that everyone drives overly cautious around you. When you're not on the highway, you're "that guy" with the Interceptor. Every time someone gets into the back seat of your Interceptor, they will say, "Oh man I've never willingly gotten into the back of a Crown Vic before. Har har har."
2005 Ford Crown Victoria - Really reliable and safe
I love this car. It is, by far, one of the best performing cars I have ever owned. The engine is responsive at the slightest touch of the gas pedal. It does have a lower mpg than I would like, but is still almost 20 in the city. The car is very well built. It feels safe and not like it would fall apart if you were in a crash. It has 130,000 miles on it and still runs perfect never had to do any major mechanical work to it. The transmission still shifts perfectly no lag or jump.
Story
Went on a two day camping trip with our children to a nearby state park. Used the car to pack everything and everyone into and went on the trip. We used the cigarette lighter for various things like air pump and charging electronics.
Pros
The inside is enormous. You do not feel cramped even when there are 5 people in the car. The trunk is also enormous we have put all of our camping gear and things we needed for a two day camping trip with two kids in it. I live in an area where it is cold for a larger amount of the year, and the engine warms up and defrosts the windows and warms up inside quickly.
Cons
The mpg is the number one thing. It gets only around 20 in the city and at most 25 on the freeway. It is a rear wheel drive vehicle and is a little hard to control on snowy or icy roads without proper tires or chains.
