Lets be real about this review. This is a compact AWD car for around $20k. This is an all-around excellent, fun to drive car. For what you pay and what you get there is no equal. This car is easily overlooked in favor of other small foreign cars and this includes the Subaru. However, this is an amazing little car. Wonderful engine, and so far no mechanical issues at (26,000 miles). I have a 2016 ES, AWD with the 2.4 CVT. I love that the technology in the car. It's simple and in some ways old school. Controls are laid out well and easy to use. Visibility is excellent! I am a smaller person and never have an issue checking my blind spots or backing the car. I've always had a healthy fear of driving. Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those, back to nature freak shows who believe that all progress is bad and that mankind must revert to the stick and stone age of the past. Both engines are noisy, especially when paired to the standard CVT; subpar interior materials quality; no available telescoping steering wheel; modest trunk space with a small opening; below-average fuel economy for a small sedan.

This car is one of the best cars I have ever owned. Mitsubishi did a great job reviving the older generations with a new platform, such as engine and body design. What I really love about the car is the way it handles, the stopping power, and the performance it brought. They did a great job adding a modern design inside comparing it to the older models. One of the dislikes I had was that it was missing a 6th gear, so highway cruising gets a little loud sometimes due to high rpms. This also adds to the not so great gas mileage it gets for being a 4 cylinder. The interior is modern, but at times it could look a little cheap, due to the plastic black look it comes with. I drove across country in my car from TN to AZ and had a blast. The car always gets compliments and looks. The reliability of the car has been quit surprising.

Top features would include the engine, power, AWD, sedan, and the sporty look.
En Contra
Needs 6th gear, bad gas mileage for a 4 cylinder, lots of road noise, cheap paint.

Drives and handle like a proper sports car on track but trolls like a family sedan in the city. The most practical car I have ever owned....with responsible regular maintenance, this car will outlive the owner him/herself.
Historia
Overall, wouldn't side with any other vehicle. This car is a great daily driver and is fun to drive. Also, the space is great since it is a sedan.
A Favor
AWD works on any road surface, and I live in Oklahoma which sometimes experience all four seasons in a week. Superb braking power -- never once felt any brake fade. Excellent transmission and build quality. Very DIY friendly. Engine bay has ample work space. Low maintenance costs.
En Contra
Worse ride comfort -- my spine felt like it's bolted directly to the chassis. First upgrade is to discard those stock shocks and then everything else is not necessary -- unless you have lots of $$$ and free time on your hands.
