When I purchased this vehicle, I was excited about the look of it, the functionality and feeling as if I had found a car that was in my price range that I would very much enjoy. Purchasing the car, I felt I had made one of the best financial decisions of my life and felt like the car would give me many years of service. I quickly found out that this would not be the case, as the car had a host of issues right off the bat, including the brakes, bearings and a problem with a radiator leak. I ended up spending a lot of money immediately for these things to get fixed, only for more things to go wrong. This is how things went for pretty much the whole time I owned this car. It did not turn out to be the wise purchase that I had thought it to be in the beginning, and in the end I found mysel... (more)
Story
I drove this car to a drive-in movie theater with friends one night, and it was a very memorable summer evening just hanging out in the car and watching movies with beautiful weather.
Pros
Nice look, sleek interior, good sound system.
Cons
Constant breakdowns, issues with electrical wirings, steering problems, overall lack of dependability.

We originally purchased this vehicle for our 'family car'. It has a lot of room for a family of four. We fit two car seats in the back without a problem. Once we had another child, we actually ran three car seats in the back, but decided it would be nicer to have a mini-van for more room. This is the ONLY reason we stopped using the Nitro as our main vehicle. I now use it primarily for 'outdoor' activities, like mountain rides and hauling gear. It does great in the snow and on 'back' roads. The built in power inverter is something I also use a TON. the amount of power plugs is great (1 DC plug and 2 AC).
Story
It's just a great car for day trips in the mountains. I can haul 2 kayaks inside the vehicle with the seats down and also throw some on the roof, if needed. It's a great vehicle for outdoor adventures in the mountains (we use it in Central Pa).
Pros
- Built In Power Inverter - Great Power - Does Awesome in Snow and on Back Mountain Roads - High Clearance for Rough Terrain, but isn't too big - Plenty of Room - I can fit two 12" kayaks IN the vehicle (obviously the gate stays up)
Cons
- Heavy on gas (Claims 24 MPG highway... I'd estimate it gets about 18) - Hitch Install was a pain, try to find one that already has one if you need it - Radio stopped working about six months after purchase. After further review, this seems to be a common
