Used Dodge Grand Caravan for Sale in Southport, NC

The top negative thing about this van is how the optional things that seem to all be extras did not work for very long after I purchased it. The automatic sliding side doors with remote on the key were unbelievably useful at first. It was so easy for me to unlock and open one door or the other to put groceries in. I used this option a lot for the first year or so that I owned this van but the passenger side stopped working. I couldn't use the remote anymore and the button inside also stopped working. When I inquired about getting it fixed, I was told that it would end up costing me about $500, and that is just way more than I am willing to pay for a convenience. Within six months, the drivers side sliding door also stopped working. I now just have to open the doors manually. The spare tire is extremely hard to get off of the van. It is located underneath the van in the back and connected with some kind of a cable. When I needed the spare off, there was no clear way to get it off. I ended up leaving my van in a parking lot over night and looking up on the internet how to remove the spare so I could go back the next day. This was a frightening situation, as I was trying to change the tire by myself, in a parking lot out of town, and it was getting dark. There should be some easier way to change a tire. Several mechanical issues have come up lately with this van that I am just not willing to pay to fix, as it has over 200,000 miles it. I am just not confident enough that it will last much longer.

This is tough because the negative things for me are all very superficial. We live in a rural area and I wanted a van with a dark interior to minimize showing dirt. The only van our small dealer could find with a dark interior had a white exterior - something I personally hate due to white always looking dirty. But, this van had everything else we wanted, so I tucked away my displeasure at the superficial and have otherwise thoroughly enjoyed owning and driving this van. To help with my "dirty white van" phobia, we got a monthly car wash pass at the local car wash near my office and I get a weekly car wash.
