2012 Dodge Grand Caravan - Good vehicle.
I like that the van was affordable for a newer model with newer features. It offers a lot of space that we can stow the seats even when we want to fit our bikes or camping equipment as well. It is good for having a space for our dogs when we go away too. We can easily stow as many seats as we want to leave plenty of room for not only the dogs but also have the seats up for those others who need to use them as well. I like that the car has nice carpeting.
Story
We took our dogs on a trip with the family and shared in a nice walk together fitting everyone and their items in the van easily.
Pros
The van has Bluetooth for calling on my cell phone. You can text too through Bluetooth. I like that it will read my texts and give me messages through voice commands. It is a little more difficult to text back because it seems to have just preset options of replies, but it is good that you can read texts by voice command because it will read it to you.
Cons
It already needs a new thermostat after only 6 years. I never had to replace that on my Toyota minivan for 12 years. It sometimes opens a door with the remote even when I don't want it to. I would have liked the crevices to be easier to access when I drop something in them. There seem to be spots I just can't reach when I drop something so that would be something I wish that would have been a better design. I like the option of sliding doors but it seems like the remote sometimes is very sensitive and opens them even when I don't want them to.
2014 Dodge Grand Caravan - Dodge Grand Caravan is perfect for families.
The Dodge Grand Caravan, from 2014, has provided my family of six with everything we need. The seats are very comfortable and easy to clean. Both sliding doors and the trunk opens automatically with the press of a button. It makes life living with full hands so much easier to be able to press a button to open up the trunk. The kids still believe the doors open up by magic, which is a fun added bonus. The steering is smooth, and it drives extremely well considering it's a pretty big vehicle.
Story
When we first saw the van at the dealership, the dealer made it appear as though he was opening the sliding doors by magic. My kids had never seen automatic doors on a car before, so they were shocked! It was very memorable, and it certainly sealed the deal on the purchase.
Pros
My favorite features of the Dodge Grand Caravan are the automatic doors and the econ mode. The economy mode helps save with gas. When I am low on gas, the economy mode helps me get to the gas station without fear of running out sooner. The automatic sliding doors and trunk make it easier for me to get the kids or groceries into the car while carrying my toddler. Driving the vehicle is much easier and smoother than I had expected, considering I had never driven a large van before this one. Cons
There have been a couple of recalls and things that needed to be fixed immediately after purchase. It was simple enough to have them fixed however, and everything was covered under warranty.
