I like my Dodge Caravan because it has been a very reliable vehicle for me for about 6 yrs now and has plenty of room to take kids and grandkids places. It's had the usual wear and tear of a 16 year old vehicle, but has held up extremely well, and has very little rust on it.
Story
My son likes to race it on his bicycle. I've also let him drive it in an empty parking lot, which is an experience any mother will never forget.
Pros
My favorite feature of this van is the duel side sliding doors, they make it so much easier for getting kids, bikes, etc. In and out of the van. I also like that the seat will come out if you want them too, allowing for so much more room. I've had very good luck with the transmission too, having 173,000 miles on it and it has the original transmission.
Cons
These vans seem to have problems with the electrical sensors. I seem to always have an icon lite up on the dash and a lot of times a dinging noise with it. I've checked into it and have been told it would be quite expensive to fix. I've also had a few problems with the side wing windows, and have no idea why that is.

2000 Dodge Grand Caravan - This van has been a trooper.

My van has over 250k miles on it. When we purchased her she was actually a "salvage," having been totaled by an insurance company the year prior. The seller did not inform us of this. Despite this, after we had some initial work done she's been great. The inside canopy peeled off, and we've replaced many parts of the vehicle over the years. We've had to replace the alternator at least two times in six years, but her engine has been great except for the "automatic transmission solenoid" which we were able to replace ourselves. The electrical system is erratic, but overall I love my van and would easily recommend a grand caravan to anyone. We have used the van to drive to Texas for our live-action-role-play group's annual meeting at least three times and that means six adults, swords, sh... (more)
Story
We used it to transport full bedding for a group of 10 to go camping for the weekend. Rather than air mattresses, we brought actual mattresses because of the amazing space after the rear seats were removed. Best camping trip ever.
Pros
I love the removable back seats, and that they can be adjusted forward and back. Having windows by the rear seats which open for air circulation is nice. We have transported up to six adults and all their gear, and once we emptied it out and transported camping goods including a queen size mattress! The versatility and comfort combined with a decent (for an older van) gas mileage make it a winner.
Cons
The electrical system has been unreliable and that has caused some issues over the years, with needing to replace parts.
