This car is surprisingly reliable for an American vehicle. It has changed my opinion of American car companies. Well, at least with Chrysler. Only one minor problem in seven years of ownership. It has plenty of power and plenty of interior space with the third row, good hauling capacity, and I feel like the exterior looks great. It is one of the best midsized SUVs on the market, maybe the best-looking SUV in my opinion. Excellent car, would recommend to family if they were in the market for an SUV.
Story
We drove this to Las Vegas in the first month of ownership with six people, and we had plenty of room. Also plenty of power for cruising on the interstates through the desert. It felt strong and heavy enough. Very comfortable - made for an awesome trip.
Pros
Pros were the relative reliability of the vehicle. In seven years of ownership, no problems except for an extremely minor one. Also good amount of power and torque. It doesn't feel slow, and the acceleration is excellent. The third row is a gamechanger. I consider it a midsized SUV, and for it to have a seven-person capacity instead of five or six is great for me, because there are times where I actually have to transport exactly seven people.
Cons
Cons were perhaps the interior not being upscale, but it is not meant to be a luxury SUV, more like a family/hauler/general purpose SUV with power, space, and looks.

I love that I have been able to take my vehicle anywhere. Crossing a river, driving up a dirt road, or getting stuck in the snow, my Durango has lasted the test of time. The V8 Engine gives me the power to experience the outdoors right, while still being practical in a city. This vehicle has helped me discover things about myself by allowing me to venture into areas that I wouldn't have otherwise seen.
Story
I was crossing a small creek onto the beach but came into the creek a little too fast. This made things a bit scary and intimidating at first because the exhaust was under the water and I could hear it plugging. I panicked for a second then put Big Red into 4x4 low and she pulled out of the creek like a champ. Lots of fun trips on the beach!!
Pros
Very spacious, great for families and if you have pets. Perfect for packing up for camping or heading to the beach. Pop the gate, and you have a little lounge to stare at the beach. Four-wheel drive works fantastic and is that extra bit you want when traveling in rural areas. Put snow tires on so you don't need chains when you go up to the mountains. Easy to mount bikes and kayaks as well as tow things with.
Cons
As the car has aged, the gas mileage has definitely dwindled. Suspension can cost a pretty penny when repairs are needed.
