2013 Dodge Durango - It is exactly what we need, a great all around SUV.

When we were looking for a replacement vehicle for my wife we also wanted something that we could take on vacation. We had our eye on the 2013 year of Durango ever since Dodge had redesigned the style of the model. When selecting an engine we knew we wanted the V8 since the V6 that was available was known to have issues. This limited us to a few different Trim levels and we ended up going with the R/T model with the blacktop package. This particular package comes with dark tint, black rims, euro style headlights, a different bumper, and blacked out grille. It looks mean, mean, mean! The 5.7 liter HEMI backs up all the styling as well with fast acceleration and loads of torque. Since we were dealing with the R/T variant it also came equipped with a tighter suspension which makes the han... (more)
Story
We have taken it on several vacations which have been great. Every time I place load on the engine be it from people or having the back stuffed with cargo the truck takes it without batting an eye.
Pros
The top pros are the styling, the performance, the comfort of the cabin with the leather seats, electric everything, heated seats, and dual climate zones. There is plenty of hauling space with the seats folded down and it can comfortably seat 6 adults and one child. The included entertainment center is wonderful on long trips.
Cons
The traction control system tends to be too conservative for my taste, we had to replace the UConnect entertainment unit once, and the remote for the rear VES screen stopped working after a year. Replacement parts for the truck can be very expensive.

The Dodge Durango R/T is a solid sport SUV with an eight-cylinder Hemi engine. The ability to select performance modes, from economy to sport, make this SUV fun to drive. The interior is comfortable and spacious. The ride quality is quiet and responsive. Very nice acceleration from a dead stop. The cargo area is huge for a car of this class. The optional towing package which I chose will handle most all user needs.
Story
I just love stopping at a stoplight next to another Durango R/T. We just grin and nod at each other knowing what a cool car we own!
Pros
Top positive notes about this car are a sleek profile, comfortable interior, and plenty of space in the back for either passengers or cargo. The R/T also includes an 8.4" Uconnect interface with available Sirius radio and hands-free phone and texting. The adaptive cruise control, which keeps the car at a specified distance from the car in front no mater what the speed, works wonderful in stop and go traffic. The climate control system automatically adjusts temperature for both driver and passenger. Multiple USB ports make charging any device a breeze. The automatic seat adjustment when e... (more)
Cons
The only negative comment I have is the lack of cup holders up front. I would like three cup holders like my 2002 Durango instead of two. Minor complaint.

This is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. It's extremely fun to drive, the wife loves it and it's got some serious get up and go under the hood. It's got a nice subtle V8 rumble at idle, but open her up and it roars to life. Amazing styling, looks like nothing else on the road. Certainly doesn't get easily confused for a Honda or Toyota appliance. It's smaller than the Tahoe/Yukon and that's a huge plus for tight parking spots/small roads.
Story
Just taking a nice weekend road trip with the wife. Have only owned it for 7 months so not many memories have been made in it yet.
Pros
Tons of space inside. Comfortable seating for 7, dual zone climate control up front and separate A/C for rear passengers. Great infotainment system. Load leveling shocks in the rear for hauling/towing. Comfortable ride, quiet cabin. Multiple USB ports, separate 120V port in rear. Power rear lift gate is a lifesaver for grocery shopping or loading heavy items.
Cons
Fuel mileage isn't super awesome, but being a 5,500lb V8 monster, I wasn't expecting Prius levels of fuel economy. No factory roof rack available for the R/T trim level. Not really many cons to list yet.
