2001 Dodge Durango - Oil guzzler, constantly in need of repair.
I do not like this vehicle. Before I owned it, it belonged to my parents and they started having problems with it early on. So many parts have been recalled and the ones that haven't been don't function well and need repaired much more often than on any other vehicle I have owned.
Story
My family went to the drive in theater with some of our family friends once. I also babysat their children. One of the boys tried to touch my boob and so I tackled him because he deserved it.
Pros
I can not think of one positive thing to say about this vehicle. The color is nice, I suppose.
Cons
It guzzles gas, it guzzles oil. It's terrible for the environment. It's always breaking down. So much of it has been recalled. It is not a good car to own. Lots of computer and electric problems. The windows are always falling off of the track, even though EVERYTHING in the doors that can be replaced already has been.
2004 Dodge Durango - Cheap and underpowered
The vehicle is severely underpowered. Severely. I have the 3.7 liter six cylinder and it's not enough engine for a vehicle this large. The interior trim is cheap looking as is the exterior bumper trim. The drivers side rear quarter panel is rusting through despite it being only 10 years old and well cared for. The steering is quite precise for a sports utility vehicle. The seats are too high for me being six feet two inches tall meaning that I have to duck under the roof line to see a stoplight.
Story
I hate this vehicle.
Pros
The vehicle has great steering. It seats a family of four quite comfortably with room for a large dog. The cargo area is specially molded to fit a 4 foot wide panel flat on the floor which is quite a nice feature to have as well. The headlights are bright and illuminate as well as any other vehicle I've ever owned.
Cons
Again the engine in my vehicle is undersized for it's weight. The 3.7 Liter 6v doesn't cut it for much more than cruising. Towing? Forget it. Not gonna happen. The transmission wants to go to the lowest gear as quickly as possible and lock the torque converter in even if it's 30 miles per hour. At 30 MPH with the torque converter locked the engine is only spinning about 1100 RPM. This wouldn't be a problem if the engine had enough low rev torque to accelerate from this gear but it doesn't
