2001 Dodge Durango - Reliable Vehicle, she just keeps going
The 2001 Dodge Durango is a good car. Some might call it a truck or an SUV, but I don't think it's suitable to call it those things. This vehicle was a hand-me-down from my grandparents. I saw it as grandpa vehicle, but it is honestly much more than that. I've traveled many miles in the Durango and spent many a nights sleeping in her during camping. This car keeps going and going. approaching 150,000 miles on the car and it just keeps 'trucking' along. I would recommend this car to many people, if only as a means to do things and if it fits their lifestyle. I don't drive a lot, but when I do I want a car that can be versatile and go places. This car can go places. The gas mileage may not be great, but once you are where you are going, the car is great. It does exactly what i... (more)

2004 Dodge Durango - Acceptable, if that's what you need.
I bought this vehicle because I needed room for a lot of people. I also really like Dodge in general. I do not like the body design, however. It makes the vehicle look fat and bulky. I also hate the fact that the only keyhole is in the driver's side door. It's a pain if you're on the passenger side and need to open it or if you need to open your trunk. My key fob sucks, otherwise I probably wouldn't care all that much. It's nice that it has climate controls for the rear of the vehicle, but it takes forever for the back of the vehicle to warm up or cool down. It seems to have a flat spot where it doesn't want to speed up unless you press hard on the accelerator. And then when you're turning, it can have a little hiccough (hard to describe-but like engine isn't in sync with transmission)... (more)
Story
One time, we decided to go for a drive with our kids. We drove down to Canon City and drove it over Skyline Drive. Skyline drive is a really cool overlook of the city.
Pros
It seats seven people, and the middle row folds down on either side. You can fold the third-row seat for more cargo space. It has more space than a Chevrolet Tahoe. I also like that it comes with AWD standard and has an option for four-wheel drive (they are two different things).
Cons
Transmission kickdown. Turning. Body design. Only one keyhole. 4.7L engines are prone to oil sludge buildup. Needs wide turn radius if u-turning in street. Climate control takes longer to catch up to rear passengers.
