My Durango is over 10 years old and still runs great I think the Dodge engine is really reliable and long-lasting. Even with almost a 100,000 miles it still has a lot of Pep. It's great that the seats lay back and you can put things in the trunk over the seats. Just like having a truck except your things are covered and protected from the weather. It still has an awesome air conditioner and heater. With all those miles the engine doesn't even leak a drop of oil. It's nice and roomy and can seat 7 people. I love the four-wheel drive for the area where I live. It gets pretty good gas mileage for an SUV. Mine has nice black leather interior and the leather has really held up over the years. The paint still looks nice and I have a luggage rack on top which is really helpful for carrying th... (more)
Story
Last year when it snowed, barely nobody could get out on the road. I was able to get out of our parking lot that was covered in snow. I was a hero to my family because I came back with goodies from the store.
Pros
One of my favorite features about my Durango is the design. I think it looks really sleek modern and rugged from the outside. My other favorite feature is the engine. It seems to be really tough and hold up well. I like that it's real responsive when I need it.
Cons
I don't really have much of a negative thing to say about the Durango. I guess just the gas mileage of an SUV could be better. Also, the factory mats could be a little larger and protect more of the carpet.

2007 Dodge Durango - Comfortable, but poor mileage and transmission problems

If you need space, this vehicle might come in handy. This vehicle performed relatively well for the first eighty to ninety thousand miles and then began having multiple and complicated problems. Creature comforts are decent. Front and rear zone temperature control is a nice touch. The sound system is similarly provisioned. The vinyl seats are not so great in the summer, but fairly comfortable when not heated to the point of being able to inflict bare skin pain.
Story
This vehicle has made packing for camping trips much less of a decision based process. So much room that we just throw everything in and sort it upon arrival.
Pros
The multiple power outlets are great for road trips. It would be better if they stayed hot when the car is not running. The third row seating is great for transporting my kid's friends. The sound system is more than adequate, although its lack of an auxiliary input dates it. The built in roof rack is handy around the beginning of December. Maintenance is not too expensive, as compared to other cars I've owned.
Cons
Gas mileage is atrocious. Fewer than ten miles per gallon in the city and it doesn't get much better than that on the highway, at thirteen miles per gallon. The temperature control system takes a while to get going, although once it does, it is pretty effective. Visibility is not great, since you're fairly high up and the angle is not great in some directions.
