1999 Dodge Durango - An Attractive Powerhouse
I own a 1999 two-door Chevrolet Tahoe. I really enjoy the color of my Tahoe, as it is a color that is very rarely seen on other vehicles and it makes it very easy to find my car in a parking lot. The color has also held its vibrancy. I enjoy the truck for the room and can easily fit all my tools in the back. The 4x4 is especially useful in winter, muddy, and rough terrain driving. The truck has over 170,000 miles and the only repairs that have had to be done on it were minor maintenance repairs. The only drawback of the truck is that the gas economy is not the best. However, I did not expect great gas economy in a truck with as much power as this one. It's great at towing whatever I need it to- ATVs, boats, small travel trailers. The roominess of the truck is great for family trips and... (more)
Story
I thoroughly enjoyed traveling with my family in this truck to Disney. I also enjoyed taking it mud riding on my family property.
Pros
The 4x4 is great on this vehicle. It's roomy and has plenty of room for storage in the trunk. It can tow plenty of weight.
Cons
The fuel economy leaves something to be desired, especially when running on 4-wheel drive. It can't tow everything a large truck can.
1999 Dodge Durango - The Dodge Durango is all GO!
I have owned two Dodge Durangos now, and they are great SUVs! They have lots of space, and the leg room is fantastic. The back seats fold down for ample space in the back to move or haul just about anything you need. The engine was powerful enough to drive a SUV full of camping equipment and four family members through the Rocky Mountains in Colorado with no problems!
Story
We took more than one vacation using our Durangos. They performed way better than our Ford Explorer and used way less gas. One particular vacation we took was into the Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. We were able to back directly up to the large stream at the very top of the mountain we were on and have easy access to our belongings as we spent the day swimming and floating around on our inner tu... Pros
Top positive things for this vehicle are the roomy interior, ample space to transport belongings in the back, excellent power from the engine without using a large amount of gas!
Cons
Wheel alignment had to be done twice in one year because of hitting a curb hard. The tires being out of alignment caused excessive wear on the tires till fixed.
