Dodge Charger Owner Ratings & Reviews

2012 Dodge Charger - I love this car. It is fast, comfortable, and fun.
My vehicle is the Dodge Charger R/T model with Beats by Dre sound system. The sound system is one of the things I enjoy the most. The bass comes through so clearly with no annoying raddles from the car. The car also has the Hemi engine, which make it quite fast. I have always had SUV in the past, so this is a nice change of pace. I now know that I have the power to pass almost anybody on the freeway and don't have to worry about getting up to speed on the freeway ramps. This car is so nice and comfortable on the interior as well. The seats are leather and feel really nice. It also helps that you have electronic controls that allow you to move your seat in so many direction to achieve optimum comfort.
Story
I really enjoy when I am a red light and someone tries to beat me off the line in order to pass me. I like being able to press on the gas and get in front of the easily. This has happened on multiple occasions.
Pros
I like the technology inside the vehicle. It has large control screen where you can control the climate, radio, navigation, and ever your phone controls. I mentioned the navigation, which is a great item to have. It is from Garmin, which is very reputable. You are able to see the map and see where you are moving as you are driving. I also really like the climate control aspect because I can select the temperature I would like inside the car and it will get it there without any further interaction by me. The wireless connectivity is also wonderful. It allows my phone to connect automaticall... (more)
Cons
The only negative thing about this car is the gas economy. The specs say you should receive 15 city and 24 highway, which is close to what I have been getting. I was aware of this when I first purchased the car and that is why I myself am not bothered by it, but if I were to recommend this car to somebody, that would the only draw back.
2011 Dodge Charger - Great compromise between muscle car and practical sedan
I've had my 2011 Dodge Charger R/T for about a year and a half and, overall, I love it. I have it a four instead of a five because there's a good bit of room for improvements (some of which I know have been addressed in newer model years). It sounds great when I put the hammer down, but it is relatively tame and subdued as a daily driver. I love the V8 engine. It has adequate power but not too fast for an everyday driver. It is fairly roomy, but the room is not impressive for a car of its size. It is very heavy and boat-like, especially with the all-wheel drive train. However, the all-wheel drive makes it very practical for winter driving. I live in the Pittsburgh area where hills are numerous, so having four-wheel or all-wheel drive is practically a necessity. The fact that t... (more)
Story
I occasionally get complements and questions at gas stations for how good some people think the car looks and what kind of features it has. I enjoy answering this questions and most people are surprised it has all-wheel drive and does well in the snow. I drive the PA Turnpike to work everyday, and I really enjoy giving the car some healthy amounts of throttle to merge onto the highway—the so... (more)
Pros
It has great luxury features. The touchscreen is nice. I like the built-in Bluetooth, back up camera, touch screen infotainment system, heated seats, and power sunroof. The all-wheel drive is excellent, and I have not yet gotten stuck in it. It is the only car in its class that offers it as far as I know. I LOVE the V8 engine, it sounds great and makes the car exciting to drive. I also love the looks of the car. It has bold styling, an attractive dual exhaust system and nice wheels. I like the xenon headlights, fog lights, and very powerful high beams. The trunk space is adequate ... (more)
Cons
It should come as no surprise that the car is a gas guzzler. The vehicle is more than 4,000 lbs., partially due to the big V8 and all wheel drive train. I have had some odd issues with the car. The trunk opens all by itself sometimes, thankfully only when the car is in park. The cruise control does not always turn on. The steering wheel buttons are not very high quality—you often have to press them slowly and deliberately. The built-in voice command system is atrocious for phone calls—it never recognizes the name I say to call. However, this is remedied because the car's Uconnect sy... (more)
2012 Dodge Charger - Car with bells and whistles.
My Dodge Charger R/T has the max package. I bought it used this year, and it's our favorite vehicle to drive. I thought Chargers had a more masculine look until I found mine. Its exterior is all black which matches great with the black interior. The interior is black leather with black trim and some blue trim. My car has blue running lights and interior lights that set it apart from other cars I've had. I didn't think I would like a "fast" car, but I definitely enjoy "stepping on it" now. It's quick to get to speed and has that racing feeling that I definitely don't get with my SUV. The car handles turns great and is a smooth ride. I took it on a road trip right after buying it, and its comfort surprised me. It had great leg room!
Story
We took our car through the African Lion Safari in Canada, and it was fun watching the baboons check out our car. Thankfully none of them climbed up on it and scratched it (although it would have been neat to see them through the sunroof, with it closed of course).
Pros
I love the navigation system and touchscreen monitor. The screen also controls other things such as the heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, stereo, and Bluetooth. The Bluetooth hooks to my phone and allows me to have text messages read to me by the cars audio. I can also answer calls and call out without looking at my phone. The map for the navigation needs to be updated on our model, but so far, it has done a decent job of keeping me on course. My Charger also has a back-up camera. I will never buy another car without one. I love that it beeps if something is in the way, and I can... (more)
Cons
It has voice command, but so far, we haven't gotten it to listen to anything we say. It's also a bit loud because of the powerful engine. I was against this at first and had asked if we could quiet it down before we bought it. But after driving it the first few times, I'm glad we didn't because it sounds "fast." However when I drive my mother around, I would have preferred a quieter car.
