Pros

  • Impressive handling makes it easy and fun to drive
  • Nice trunk space
  • Strong V8 performance
  • Comfortable seats and a quiet ride
  • Cons

  • Too huge to be a nimble car
  • Thirsty V8 engine is a gas guzzler
  • Rubberized interior materials
  • Pricey

  • Key Takeaways

The 2018 Dodge Challenger is spacious and comfortable, offering drivers and passengers a quiet ride. While it's not as nimble as smaller vehicles, owners enjoy this muscle car's reasonable handling and numerous powerful engine choices. Both the supercharged Hellcat and Demon offer extraordinary amounts of horsepower (707 and 840 respectively) but be prepared to pay a premium for them and to fill the tank often.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger is a muscle car for the modern era. The car's body style and interior are designed to emulate the 1970 legendary version of the car. Modern upgrades, however, make this feel like tomorrow's ride. There is a huge, nearly 8 inch, screen for my XM radio. This screen can be changed to show multiple gauges at once if you prefer that to the radio and is fully customizable. Mine is set to shown the dynameter, G-Forces, current horsepower, and current speed. The large analog RPM and speed gauges are spread around a digital status display that is configurable, to an extent. I use mine to describe my fuel efficiency in real time! Add to all this the six speed manual transmission and you have a comfortable ride. You can configure the power steering, engine, and traction ... (more)
    Story
I was cruising along at 55 on a two line highway when a guy in a Mustang pulled beside me and indicated he'd like to race. I pressed the sport mode button, dropped the hammer, and 1/4 mile later he was three car lengths behind me.
    Pros
Very configurable experience, easy for a 'sports car beginner' to control, enough power and control for a 'veteran', and looks different than anything on the street.
    Cons
Mine is all black so it is prone to paint scratches. I can't even use an automatic car wash, it is hand wash only for this ride.
