The Dodge Caravan was a no-frills sort of vehicle that got my large family from point a to b in the bumpiest, cheapest way possible. It did not have the features that a lot of more expensive makes and models had, and the interior left a lot to be desired. The drive was boring, which is pretty standard for this segment, but worse was its get up and go (it had none). This made highway commutes and driving up large inclines a challenge. The minivan required several tune-ups, and the engine went out completely after 50,000 miles. The repairs were not as expensive as many other models, and the parts were easy enough to field... but the fact that I basically had to replace everything in the car so soon was a huge turn off. That said, the gas mileage was competitive, and the storage was cert... (more)
Story
I traveled to Austin, TX, and shared many great memories with the family there. The trip and the moments therein were in this vehicle, and it was memorable for sure.
Pros
The gas mileage and storage capability of the vehicle was competitive. The price was also very competitive all things considered, even if it did not have the best features.
Cons
Build quality and reliability was just not there. Very poor drive train performance, slow with no get up and go. The comfort level was just not there and many missing features found in most other minivans.

We bought a used Dodge Caravan as is from a dealer because that was what we could afford at the time and who would approve us. We are a family of 7, so a van is a must. I must hold 3 car seats and be able to get in and out as well as all the stuff that goes along with having young kids. In the beginning the van ran pretty well. We didn't have any major issues with it, other than the fact that there was no radiator cap. The van has lots of room. It is able to hold a full double stroller in the back along with bags for the twins and the baby as well as stuff for the older kids to do. There is also storage space under the seats in the front. The car ran very well until last year when the air conditioning went out in the summer and the heat in the winter. Then the radiator stopped wo... (more)
Story
Pulling over to the side of the road so my family could watch my niece dance via my phone. She was dancing in a national dance competition out of state, and we couldn't afford to go.
Pros
The best part about this car was all the space that it had for all our stuff. It was able to hold 3 full-size car seats, a full-size double stroller, and all the stuff that goes along with having 5 kids under the age of 9.
Cons
Within the last year, our air conditioning went out in the summer (100-degree weather), and the heat in the winter (30+ below). The radiator would not cycle through the fluids and continued to over heat. Then two tires went flat, and the breaks needed to be replaced. Ended up paying well over $1,500 for everything to be fixed.
