Dodge Caravan Owner Ratings & Reviews

2013 Dodge Caravan - Roomy
This is the first vehicle we have had with the seats that fold down into the floor of the van and we love not having to take the seats out every time we think we might need to haul something. It is also nice having the storage space available when the seats are set up. I also like having the LATCH system for child safety seats as it is much easier to take the seat out and put it back in as needed. Even after 30,000 miles, the vehicle has no rattles. The EcoBoost system seems to slow the van down when in use, so we do not use it. It is a Flex fuel vehicle, however, we do not use anything other than the ethanol added gas. After researching, using E-85 fuel has more disadvantages than advantages, such as vehicle damage and poor gas mileage. The interior is nicely designed and decorated. I... (more)
Story
I shop at rummage sales for our children and it is great to be able to make room for those great items we find, especially furniture.
Pros
I really like having the seats that fold down and store in the van. Many times we have traveled with previous vehicles and not been able to haul something because we had to take the seats out and had no where to put them. Now we just fold the seats down, haul the stuff, then put the seats back up and haul people! I also like all the storage space in the vehicle. When the seat are up, there is room to put things in their storage space. The pull out drawer under the console is great for storing things you don't need all the time but need to have with you. I also like having two charger slots... (more)
Cons
We didn't intend to buy a flex fuel vehicle or I would have done more research on it. After buying the vehicle and doing the research, we have not used any flex fuel because it gives worse gas mileage and causes more damage to the vehicle. The fact that the vehicle had a recall and that it took several months to get the replacement part was understandable but frustrating. I do not use the EcoBoost because when I have tried it, it slowed down vehicle response time when speeding up which is not good when in heavy traffic on an Interstate highway. I also did not note much difference in the ga... (more)
2015 Dodge Caravan - Wonderful Family Vehicle
The Dodge Caravan is a wonderful family vehicle. I am a mother of two and have plenty of space to fit our whole family in along with friends or items for outings. The best features in the Dodge Caravan are the fold down seats. Every seat from the middle back can fold down into compartments in the floor. These compartments are also useful when not storing the seats by allowing you the pout items below so they are out of the way. The version of the vehicle we have came with a DVD player that the kids really enjoy. It also connects the sound for the video through headphones provided. This way the front passenger and drive whom can not view the video can listen to music without bothers the back seat riders. The over all look of the vehicle is very sleek instead of boxy. It also has great t... (more)
Story
We live on gravel roads and one day we had so much rain it flooded several roads. We were still able to get through in a van while some huge truck was stuck on the side of the road.
Pros
The top things about the dodge caravan would have to be the overall comfortably of the seating. Any where you sit in the caravan has plenty of leg room as well as a comfortable seat. For those with small children the difficulty of fitting car seats in can be a pain, that issue is none existent in this vehicle. Also each seat has a nice view of the road. Our family likes to take trips and it is nice for the back passengers to be able to see out with out too much moving. The caravan also has plenty of cup holders in our version the front riders alone have 8 including all the one throughout t... (more)
Cons
One of the biggest issues we had was getting parts. Our first few weeks with this vehicle the underside got hit with a rock causing the muffler to need to be replaced. It took the company 47 days to get the part to our repair man. This was a head ache a new vehicle should not have had. The other issue we had was also involving the part company that deals with dodge vehicles. We did not get a spear tire when we first got the vehicle. Did not realize it did not come with one till we were already off the lot and home for a few days. When we went back to the dealer they said we could order one... (more)
2013 Dodge Caravan - Perfect for families
We purchased this vehicle after owning a 4-door sedan. We had one small child at the time of purchase and have recently had another baby. The van is perfect for families with small children. The push-button to open/close the doors is extremely valuable in busy parking lots and when carrying diaper bags, stroller, etc. I also like that when I'm getting groceries into the car, the toddler can crawl through the back and start getting into his own seat. The van drives smoothly, is quiet on the highway and most controls are easily accessible. Fuel economy is great, gets equal MPG as my smaller sedan. Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend to others. With the 3rd row of seats folded down, the vehicle can actually carry 2 adult bikes and kid toys. We originally thought we'd have to ... Story
We love bringing the van to the beach. Sandy toes, muddy shoes, wet swimsuits, etc do not matter. The kids crawl in the back and change, all the mess stays in one area. We have extra sunscreen, diapers, clothes even stored in the side pockets in the doors.
Pros
Open/close doors at the touch of the button was a major selling point for us. The vehicle also has stow & go seats, which are so easy to use. The amount of cargo room is remarkable. Road trips have been so comfortable with the ability to adjust almost every seat. The van drives well, rides smooth and lets in minimal outside noise.
Cons
The stow & go seats are very easy to stow once you get them in the right order. Sometimes the straps get stuck and you have to re-assemble everything before trying to collapse again. I also wish there were more power outlets, not just cigarette lighters. The ability to charge electronics during road trips (especially in the back seats) would be valuable. I also don't think this van is as sporty-looking as other manufacturers I've seen.
