The Dodge Caliber is a sporty classy looking car. What first attracted us to this car was the black dashboard with a classy round display and its great gas mileage. Everything looks neat and snazzy. The car is small and easily maneuverable. Yet it is large enough to store everything inside when we go places as it is a hatchback. It fits well to our family. When driving the first time I felt like it is a perfect fit.
Story
We used this car to drive up to Gull lake in Minnesota to go camping with friends. We had a great time kayaking and boating on the lake. It got great gas mileage and we were happy to drive the 4 hours that it took to get there without worrying about the cost of gas.
Pros
This car get really good gas mileage and it drives very smoothly. I appreciate the fact that it is roomy enough in the back to store things such as a cooler or stroller. The seats are comfortable and can be adjusted by height which is a feature that I have never seen in a car. This is great as I am short and my husband is tall. The design of the car is very modern and makes one feel European. It also has a plug in to hook up an mp3 player or ones cell phone to the stereo. There is also a plug for normal electricity in the car so I can use my straighter if I am running late and my husband i... (more)
Cons
It does not accelerate very fast and seems to lack the power even to do that. The car is small and it can be a bit of a tight squeeze now that we have two children.

The Dodge Caliber is a small hatchback with about 140 HP and a front-wheel-drive CVT transmission. Overall, the vehicle has a modern look and feel. Gas mileage runs about 25 in the city and 32 on the highway. The vehicle has 5 out of 5 in most crash tests because of its wide range of well designed safety features (strong steal frame, several air bags, etc). Overall, it's a very versatile vehicle with a mostly positive experience.
Story
Whenever I go kayaking, I leave my house with the kayak in the back of the car, then return with it on the room. It feels more secure in the back, but can drain outside.
Pros
+ Inside features - it has nice toggles, radio display, tachometer, inside lighting, comfortable seats, steering wheel + Overall look - unique yet classy, kind of sporty + Size - it's not a huge car, yet there's a lot of leg room and cargo space
Cons
- Slow acceleration - the CVT causes a slightly slow and noisy take off - Head light issues - this particular model of Dodge is plagued by a poorly designed fuse box which causes the headlights to randomly stop working. The general cost to repair is $900 at a mechanic - Gas mileage - for its size, it doesn't get great MPG
